House of the Black Oak [tree] is a casually competitive guild, focused on dungeons, group events, and SPvP/Tournaments. In addition to these ongoing events, we have members who actively engage in map completion (vistas, waypoints, story-mode dungeons, and points of interest), and crafting. Our “casual competitive” attitude means we have the utmost respect for your real life, not just your in-game persona. We seat a total of 50 members; this means we’re a smaller, private guild which relishes our members’ contributions and skills. Because we maintain a smaller group of players, we also foster a more community-oriented playstyle and team environment than many of the other guilds. You will never be anonymous, left out, or forgotten. Your contributions will always matter!

We’re excited to build a set of teams within our guild to compete in Guild Wars 2 eSports as ArenaNet develops this area of the game.

We play on Aurora Glade. Please note that this is not a “gay guild,” but we are very gay and lesbian friendly. Many of our players are gay/lesbian, so you definitely need to be comfortable with that. We have a 0-tolerance policy for nerdrage or disrespectful/immature behavior on voice chat or in guild chat.

tree is currently accepting applications from mature gamers (community-oriented, team-players) for PvP tournaments and dungeon activity, and future eSports competition. Note: We are a social guild with a very social play style. As with any social environment, people tend to become friends and sometimes talk about their personal lives, either in guild chat or on voice chat. If you’re not comfortable playing with gay guys and gals, if you frequently call people the “f” word while playing (the six-letter one), or if you just plain dislike gay people (hey, you’re entitled), then we’re probably not the best fit for you.

We don’t have an exhaustive application process; everyone is welcome to join. We do conduct a short interview via voice-chat (Skype or Steam) prior to admission to the guild.

Legend tells of a tree planted in mystery before the time of the dragons, nurtured and cared for by The Six themselves, that grew to have leaves red as blood and bark black as night, scorched to ash by the dragons when they first woke. Before it burned, the wind carried seeds from the tree to the four corners of the world. Some believe these seeds hold the key to defeating the dragons and restoring peace to Tyria. Sometimes, in quiet corners and dark circles, you may hear such believers whisper of a secret society: House of The Black Oak.

Hi. How often do you do dungeon runs? Thanks.

We have a standing Dungeon Sunday event each week. Of course, members run the dungeons during the week together pretty often, too! I’d say on average, 4 or 5 per week, mostly in the evenings. Sunday Dungeoning is in the afternoon.

@nugget: Yes. We have an age posted on our home page as a guideline, but not an absolute rule. We chose that number because most people in the guild seemed to feel it was a good starting point ON AVERAGE of the type of person we have in the guild.

We do have a few members who are younger than 24. Everyone is welcome to apply.

Hi there! House of the Black Oak [tree] is a social guild focussed on dungeons and SPvP. Members frequently have a variety of interests in the game, but as a guild our scheduled group activities generally revolve around these two events. Our “casual competitive” attitude means we have the utmost respect for your real life, not just your in-game persona. We seat a total of 50 members mostly from Europe and from all walks of life. This means we’re a smaller, private guild which relishes our members’ contributions and skills. Because we maintain a smaller group of players, we also foster a more community-oriented playstyle and team environment than many of the other guilds. We also firmly believe that gaming is neither a full-time job nor a lifestyle; it’s a hobby. Our guild’s motto is: This is just a game. Sometimes it’s a silly game, sometimes it’s a competitive game, but it’s always a game and it’s always meant to be fun.

We’re located on Vabbi, a well-populated (but not overly-crowded) EU server.

[tree] is currently accepting applications from mature gamers (24+, calm, community-oriented, team-players) for PvP tournaments and dungeon activity, and future eSports competition.

I really like the energy you seem to have, but russian server is not really what I was hoping for

It’s very difficult to say where people are from on our server, since everybody speaks English on public chats so I don’t know where this idea is coming from.

Furthermore, if all public chat is in English I don’t see what difference it makes where people are from, since we can all understand each other.

It is an English-speaking server, is the most accurate definiton I think.

I think where that idea came from was that on gw2guilds.org, there are a lot of Russian guilds registered on our server. I think it’s a very poor idea to base the idea of the server’s population on that, though, as many guilds are on our server and are NOT registered on that web site.

Also, the fact that people are from a certain place does in NO WAY imply they aren’t capable of interacting with people in another language. I have met some Russians on our server, but only knew they were from Russia because I always ask people “Where are you from?” (because I’m social like that).

Mystress, I think you mentioned to me that you were French. I’ve met far more French people on Vabbi than I have Russian or German, and they’ve all spoken English just fine, as well (as do you).

The last thing that I’ll say about the Russians, is that we’ve had a LOT of Russian guys contact us about Oooh. They have not been interested in joining, and in fact a lot of them have made it clear that they are not gay, but they have wished us great luck and success and said that they really support our guild and the spirit of what we’re trying to do. So, I’m kinda a fan of the Russians on Vabbi.

As said in our original post, we welcome EVERYONE at Oooh. Our members are extremely accepting people. If you’re looking for a guild where you can fit it regardless of where you are from, how you speak, or how you play, we’re it.

Oooh [girl]: LGBT/gay-friendly, PvX/WvW, fun & social players

Are you tired of reading guild recruitment ads that use language like:

  • “Basically, our guild owns the game.”
  • “You must play our way and follow our guildmaster’s instructions.”
  • “You must have this experience with that.”
  • “We only accept members who are (insert age/software/class/character qualification here).”

Well, so are we. Welcome to Oooh [girl]! Oooh [girl] is a fun, friendly guild composed of casual and competitive players from around Europe (and even a few in the US). Our guild’s motto is: This is just a game. Sometimes it’s a silly game, sometimes it’s a competitive game, but it’s always a game and it’s always meant to be fun. If our name made you laugh, then this is probably the guild for you!

Oooh [girl] is a predominantly LGBT guild. No, we are not a “gay guild.” Yes, most of our members are gay. No, you don’t have to be gay to join us—but you do need to be gay-friendly. As I explained it to one straight member recently, “We aren’t so much pro-gay as much as we are anti-dumb.”

Visit our web site at http://o3h.does-it.net

What can you expect from Oooh [girl]?

We’re of the firm belief that gaming is neither a full-time job nor a lifestyle. It’s a hobby.

I started this guild during headstart. Originally there were two real-life friends and myself, and we’re now expanding the guild to include other gay and gay-friendly players who like to have fun, and sometimes even compete in tournament PVP. We’re proud to have an international member base comprised of male and female players, both gay and straight, in several countries. Our guild chat and voice chat is conducted in English—if you’re not a native speaker, don’t worry. We don’t care if you have an accent or if your English is less than perfect. Everyone is welcome in our guild. We have a very active group of core players who are wonderful people—great fun, great conversation, and great laughs. They’re not half bad at playing, either. :P

We have members interested in just about all aspects of the game. As a guild, our goals include:

  • World and dynamic events
  • Exploration-mode dungeons
  • Structured PvP
  • World vs. World PvP
  • Tournament PvP

In addition to these on-going guild activities, we have members who actively engage in (and are happy to help you with) map completion (vistas, waypoints, story-mode dungeons, and points of interest), crafting, and leveling in general.

Oooh [girl] will never be a giant guild. We’re aiming to hold at a steady 30-40 active players in the European timezones, and 10-20 active US players. You will never be anonymous, left out, or forgotten. Your contributions will always matter!

We have excellent out-of-game support, as well. Our web site features forums, private messaging, member profiles, and a guild event calendar with (optional) reminder notifications. We don’t expect you to log in every day just to find out what’s going on, nor do we expect you to spend 5 hours a week digging through forums to find activities or information you need. Feel free to visit our web site at http://o3h.does-it.net.

Currently, we’re playing on the Vabbi server. Character transfers are currently free, so feel free to give us a chat and come on over, if you like.

If you and your friends are interested in joining us, but aren’t on Vabbi and don’t want to transfer, that’s ok, too. GW2 allows you to join a guild from any server. You’ll be able to join us for PvE and PvP via the guesting feature (ArenaNet has stated that they are introducing this feature in the near future). You won’t be able to join us for WvW, however.

Joining Oooh

Oooh [girl] a social guild with a very social play style.

We don’t have an arrogant or exhaustive application process; everyone is welcome to join. We do generally have a quick, 2–3 minute chat with interested parties prior to sending an invitation. If you’re interested, just visit our web site (link below) and fill out the form. Your information will be sent to an officer who will then contact you via email or in-game to set up a time for a quick chat and an invite.

The link for new members is http://o3h.does-it.net/

We look forward to seeing you in-game! Good hunting!
