I’m confused at the “…. ranged attacks. Which apparently Guild Wars 2 kinda discourages…”, bit. All my characters have pretty viable ranged options, often more than one and I use all of them quite a bit. (Ok, maybe not my Guardian…..)
Certainly Melee is more powerful, but shouldn’t it be? (Since there is much more risk in melee conflict).
Like I mentioned, I’m aware that all/most classes can go ranged, and I do agree Melee should have some more power since there’s risk, but for what I can figure it’s that the difference is too much and that working around in melee isn’t (apparently) that hard, ending up with those who largely prefer ranged playstyles get sort of discouraged from doing so.
Hi everyone… So I’m trying to get back into Guild Wars 2 and wanted to create a new character and all… Thing is, I’m a fan of ranged attacks. Which apparently Guild Wars 2 kinda discourages…
So I kinda wanted to know the opinion of the community on what classes to go for if looking for a good ranged experience (if there is any, somewhere in this game); I’m trying to for a mostly PvE gameplay.
I’m aware all classes can somewhat go ranged, but (at least some time ago) some classes tended to be almost impossible to be minimally efficient in such role.
So, please, share your thoughts/opinions. Thanks and sorry for posting a somewhat common question.
Howdy,
I was going to buy another char slot expansion (already have 7 char slots total), wanted to get my eighth for a char of a different class :P
However, I noticed the upgrade tab to be empty, no digital deluxe upgrade not he char slot upgrade… Is it normal or is something abnormal?
Fix the graph. engine please its awful slow!

Lots of people, havok physics and such… It’s more of a CPU thing…
Oh and the GPU is being used to his full potential… If you check the GPU load through GPU-Z you’ll notice it.
Also the more memory you got does not mean it will go faster. And more mhz does not imply it’s faster, latencies may be higher and such ends up the same.
Oh, and if using AMD; be sure to try out different Catalyst drivers. I had an issue with a specific game back on 12.6 (or was it 12.4?).. Sometimes they kinda screw it up.
CPU Usage increasing dramatically with GW2 (Upwards of 70%)

I got a Phenom II X3, and I have it at 30fps during PvP, enough to play I suppose.
However, using the CPU when it’s a CPU intensive yeah it’s normal.
And saying similar hardware is kinda relative.
What do you mean with similar hardware? Just because frequencies of CPU or memory are almost the same does not mean the performance itself is similar.
Howdy,
Just a random player here but noticed your problem, I got an AMD 6950 and my CPU is also an AMD (Phenom II X3 720 BE), and I got no issues what-so-ever… I however have installed Catalyst 12.8 (my laptop has 12.6, and is using an AMD 4570 without any troubles as well)…
It could be Windows 8 or maybe a Catalyst problem…
Sometimes Catalyst tends up to screw up some games. Hope it somehow helps.
