New feature: Build Saver

I am not certain if this is a good place for this, but I have an idea that might help improve a gameplay in Guild Wars 2 – build saver or at least trait saver.

In original Guild Wars there was an option that allowed players to save their build into .txt file and then load it again when needed. I know that builds in Guld Wars 2 are way more complex including armours, runes, traits ect. but still I think that such a small feature could greatly increase pleasure from playing different types of activities.

For example, when I want to play some WvW I have to change my traits, armor, skills ect. and when I finish and I want to go back to PvE I have to do it again. Moreover even in PvE you have different builds for different situations. For instance if you have 2 warriors in your dungeon team one of them should swap his traits to not double Empower Allies or when you are going to hight lvl fractals after dungeons it is likely that you will have to change your build as well.

Furthermore option that allowed players to simply ping the build code on the chat would greatly improve comunication, but it is not as important as build saver feature. I think that there are a few solutions for this problems:

1) Difficult: Add different set of traits and skills to WvW – just like in PvP I can play a few matches and then go back to PvE without need of changing my build.

2) Moderate: Complete build saver. The codes of build will be very long, so I think that in this way it would be impossible to ping them on chat.

3) Easy: Trait saver – it’s not the whole build, but changing traits takes the most of time needed to adjust the character. Also it is easier to create a simple and short code system that could be saved in GW2 file and even be pinged on the chat.

Ofcourse this problem is not as important as adjusting rewards system or improving existing in-game content, but still I think that it could be helpfull.

Sorry for my broken english ^^

Fan translation

I want to start a fan project – translation of Guild Wars 2. Why? I know many players, who left game not because they didn’t enjoy it, but because they couldn’t understand the plot or descriptions of skills. Translation itself is a huge undertaking , but we cannot even start until we will extract the text files from the game and prepare them for translators.

AN is busy making new story and updates, so they cannot help with translation. I am not IT specialist, so I was wondering if it is possible to extract the files from gw2.dat, translate them and then send them back to AN to add them to the game.

The project will surely require a lot of hands to work on it, but I see no sense in making a website and assemble the people if we cannot even start the work. Could someone say if it is possible to do so or it will require the developer’s help even to start.
