Do I hold on to these or what? As much as I’m afraid Anet might make them vendor-able as soon as I throw them all away, they’re starting to take up precious inventory/bank space. Halp. D:
What about the rewards? what do you think of them? I’m getting tired of back pieces over and over, I only have so many characters and as a result so many backs. Not to mention they aren’t even dye-able!
Rewards? Well I still use the rose backpiece from Bazaar of the Four Winds, that’s all I remember ever using from a LS.
I strongly agree with you. I was quite disappointed by the recent LS releases because they don’t feel like content worth spending your time on. Instead, they feel like little batches of filler content to keep us busy while real content is at work. (I’m referring to the content released after the Bazaar of the Four Winds)
I’m sorry, but coming back to the game after 2 weeks of waiting for the current LS to end only to find that the new LS is just a reworked boss fight (Tequatl), and then waiting 2 more weeks to find a new path for a dungeon (Twilight Assault) just makes me wonder: Is something going on that I’m not aware of? Is it their plan to just release reworks and little expansions to existing content one by one, every 2 weeks?
I’m quite frustrated, and I’m sure more people are frustrated at the fact you have wait 2 weeks for a new LS, only to finish it in a day and go back to your usual business.
On an unrelated note, I’m also very sick of Scarlet, she just doesn’t fit in with the rest of the game, but that’s just a personal thing.
“Living World I thought would be adding content, changing the world, changing the landscape, cities, new monsters, etc. etc. After some time I have realized Living World = Temp content scavenger hunts with ugly back items.”
This is exactly what’s on my mind. Before playing GW2, I thought this Living World thing would add lasting content to the game, would change stuff, but all it does is add temporary (and usually farmable) content that rewards you with some vanity items and then vanishes. I stopped doing those LS things when Teq came out (a single boss fight is just poor, imo), and now we have Twilight Assault, which is just an addition to Twilight Arbor.
I’m very disappointed. :/
Seems like someone’s upset over losing…
Well, since I started WvW I’ve only seen SBI go against the same 5 or so servers over and over. I just wanted something different :<
No offense to Kaineng or Yak’s Bend, but I was hoping we’d get other servers. I dunno about you guys, but getting the same servers over and over gets pretty stale after a while :/.
And I am very disappointed.. Not because it’s a tough fight or because it’s not a farming event, but because the entire event IS a single boss fight! I always expect a Living Story event to have plenty to do, but unfortunately that is not always true, and in this case, it’s very far from the truth. Anyone else disappointed? :(
This is my first time reading one of our matchup threads (I’m from SBI), and lemme tell you: you guys complaining about our zergs splitting up to chase small groups/loners should be glad for it, because that kind of behavior only harms us (and make us look like cowards (which is accurate for a lot of players here)).
Running off to chase people does nothing but alert the enemy even more of our zerg movement, weaken the group as a whole and make you look like complete wusses.
I’ve seen groups of about 30 people headed to an objective lose half of the group on the way because of sentries/ganking opportunities. Short attention span FTW!
PS: I need IoJ’s hills vista to get my 100% world completion, give it up already. >:|
yeah its very bad at the begining to deal with mesmers/thief but after a while u can predict their stuff… other than that there is nothing much i can tell you, just do hotjoin till you get the hang of your character and then go to tournies ( wich are lame ) to get more into the game.
and necros well … some ppl say that they are broken some ppl say that they are not so u just have to deal with em.
oh and i forgot to say this game targeting is really really bad but u will get used to it if u keep playing.
I hope you’re right and experience will make it better for me, cause I’m really upset with sPvP atm. Thanks for responding. :>
And I’m terribly confused. I went with my recently 80’d warrior, and I thought it would be cool to start off because all gear is normalized, but what I got was completely unexpected.
Please keep in mind that I’m not fully aware of what every profession can do, and I may be missing very important things.
At first I tried a defense based build, with a mace+shield and a hammer, and trait thingies that would let me survive longer. And when I actually got into a server, I got my posteriors handed to me. I would constantly get permanently rooted and blasted with every type of condition damage in the game without being able to do anything about it.
That I can deal with, but then there’s the issue with attacking other players. Attempting to harm a Mesmer is a nightmare: when they’re not dodging around, they’re either invisible or among a few illusion things. I find it VERY difficult to do anything to a mesmer, unless I use every stun/knock spell I have, because that’s all I can do to get them to stay still, and not for long. Every encounter I have with a mesmer ends up with a full HP mesmer and a dead warrior.
Then I engage a Rogue in combat, and nothing seems too out of norm- oh wait, I just got demolished. Even with everything tuned to defense, a rogue can devastate me without much effort. This would be okay if they had little defense to make up for the damage, but they seem to have SO many tools to avoid my damage completely! And while also dishing a lot of damage themselves.
And then there are Necros. This is exactly what I didn’t want to face in this game. I don’t know how to explain it, but they just lay down a LOT of DoT damage on me and outheal my (not too great, yes) damage. And every now and then they go into this wispy thing that is hard to hit and deals some pretty good damage, for about 15 seconds. I have no idea how to counter all of that: they easily bypass my defenses, ignore my damage and outlast me.
As I said before, I might be making some very silly mistakes, but please forgive them, as I’m not an experienced player at all when it comes to this. I would appreciate if someone would help me with this, sPvP has been a very frustrating experience to me so far, and I don’t want to dismiss it entirely so soon. I can provide more information about the character I’m running, but please give me some light on this.
Thank you.
