Edit: sorry AdziH!
Good inspiration, especially if you made ??a Warrior ou a Guardian (in green) 8/10
The Pale Tree awakened me during the Cycle of Noon, in a clear day, where only the great sun shining brightly over Tyria.
I’m Bánghrian, from Irish “bán”, that means “Sun”, and “ghrian”, that means “White”.

Just give to us a way to see Pet boons/condi stuff easier that clicking on the pet!
Organizer Pet stuff is good too, but I think is not a priority for Rangers Pet dinamics.

This discussion is a good sample of limits of the Ranger class.
“Please, use this meta or you don’t contribute in anything on this group”
“This is the only way to be accepted on a fractal”.
We don’t have nothing more to offer except Spotter+Frost Spirit? Thats it?
If you just want do some cool stuff like: throw axes, shoot arrows, swing a big sword, you can’t! Because you will be a potato sack! You will be ridiculous.
When we talk about pets, it’s worst! More of 70% pets are useless doing a same job of other, this is ridiculous.
It’s frustrating.

I think sources are a priority foremost because even you have a high duration but with only limited sources for it, it will get cleansed leaving you with limited options to re apply it
The best chill output I’ve found per duration is just going all in on chill. Axe/Dagger and Sword Torch, Sigils of Ice and Hydromancy, with Grenth Runes and 4 in Marksmanship (also, Malicious Training and an Owl).
That hits 50% duration (no, I didn’t calculate for food, somebody else that WvWs more can do that) which turns all of the 2s chills to 3s, meaning than on any given weapon swap, with sigils alone, you have 6/9 (2/3) chill uptime.
Axe now has kitten of chill, healing skills also do and AoE kitten chill, and an unlucky person is going to hit you and get kitten of chill. Oh, and the double hit of the owls F2 with Malicious Training should be 9 seconds of chill.
So, lots of chill lol.
But even with near permanent chill or a good uptime of chill and constant applications, will you do enough damage compared to your opponents? In a pvp setting its one thing to keep your foe chilled all the time to drag them down, but you’re still not too helpful of a player if you do no damage. How would you suggest we can still be effective? I’ve tried this kind of full chill build and I didn’t find myself as useful as other ranger builds
This is exactly how I am feeling, chill is a good concept but for PvP (IMO), it is hard to utilize since you will get focused on and given the fact that the space on PvP to fight on is pretty small. I most often get wrecked, yeah I chill-lock them but I cant do enough to kill them.
I’ve been talking to other 2 rangers to theorycraft with the chill concept and hopefully we get something that will prove really viable. I tried the concept of chill and interrupts on my mesmer ( I main lockdown mes btw) and interrupts were abundant but the chill application is not so I decided to try other classes.
This, I think, http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fNAQNBHhFakRlOWLZxlFuWDAIULDg7tZO0CujieYsL4xE-TJxFwAJOFAr2fAwTAoZZAA can spwam chill and can be effective doing damage.
Axe+ Warhorn / Greatsword [prime]

Hi,
When I think in ‘soft condition’, I think in a ‘bonus condition’.
So… why not use Power on Child Ranger?

other classes not specified for ranged
NO! BAD Valtarius!
c’mon a class called Ranger where melee weapons sets are superior in most ways
The Ranger is not for ‘range’. Play RPG (D&D) to see what ANet want say about rangers mixing bow and sword/dagger, or see Aragorn in Lord of the Ring, best sample about bow and greatsword.

I know about Axe/Torch, and use this for PVx too. It’s pretty good set and I like a lot of Axe/x.
But LB it’s useful. This is (oblivious) more oriented to who is looking for a long range fight. LB Share two traits with SB (prime condition weapon) and it give to you a good set of utility’s skill in a swap weapon move:
1 burst skill to stack vulnerability and bleed (can shot twice before swap again);
1 stealth chance (to finisher and escape)
1 control effect (useful to save a friend or yourself)
1 AoE (moral effect, cripple and bleeding rain);
I did try this combination on PVP and did like a lot too: LB/SB, same trait, Krait Rune, Celestial/Rampage accessory.

I’m running something like that to be a bow ranger

Is a 4/4/6/0/0 with SB/LB bleed, Krait, passive condition remove, but you can change to 4/2/2/6/0 for active condition remove, plus fury and one sun spirit with Balthazar.
The Copper Ram @ Jade Quarry
The release notes say noting about that.
I just feel like we, rangers, were being duped.

Ranger Pets
- Ranger pet special (F2) skills are now significantly more responsive.
F2 is working now?

Hi partypanda,
Try use this for start and post your build for us: http://en.gw2skills.net/editor/
The Copper Ram @ Jade Quarry
I run similar build with Short Bow[earth+agony] and Axe[ice/doom]/Warhorn[rage], using a 4/2/2/6/0 with Spotter for myself and helps team, plus 20% base Condition Duration and 5 stack of vulnerability on pet (Wolf+Reef).
Start fight with SS, A#3, WH#4, approaching, A#2, swap, SB#1AA, #3 (if enemy burst), #4, running around and shooting, if enemy cleanse, SB#2 to cut heal/regen and SB#5 to interrupt heal, swap, etc. etc. etc. Save WH#5 to blast finish H-Spring [with quickness, rage or zephyr is great].

Im runing this selfish Bleed Rabid build (2/4/2/6):
http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fNAQNBlODbkQlaWLZxfFqWEIIUrCgW1AzEoCcnv3wXfyKOyL-TpRFwAOOIAAuAADeAARLDI4IAka/BA
You can easily put 20+ bleed stack using Short Bow+Sharpening Stone. Like pop zephyr for side or behind to have some like a ‘6 sec of Rapid Fire of hemorrhage’.
The Sigil of Ice on Axe is good for plus Winters Bite time and a surprise soft CC. Using Sigil of Rage on Warhorn, help cast Hunter’s Call and Troll Ungent, or simple switch to Short Bow and spreed bleed stacks.
For Pets I like run Warthog for more conditions plus 3 sec knockdown and Wolf for fear plus more knockdown.
Suggestions are always welcome.

I know what you say about critical rate and Sharpening edge, but a toxic cristal not will up all your dps? I think is not mandatory focus only on condition for ‘condition build’ the right hybrid is the solution – like what you sugest on your condition trap build, certainly I will try run this.
(sorry for bad english) Thank you
The Copper Ram @ Jade Quarry
I think is better try use a Toxic Focusing Cristal, because do you have precision alot
