I have encountered this problem for well over a month. 3 different characters, 3 different times, and I still cannot open the chest. I am getting VERY tired of doing this and not being able to move on. I am ready for this to be fixed.
your personal story at that point isn’t exactly personal. Personal stories follow arcs, the reason you were progressed is because you were both on the same arc. You will get the same missions regardless of what your character rolled in the beginning during the Orr Story Arc. So… it’s not really a “personal story” at this point. You would have gotten the same missions regardless.
You are incorrect. The mission I got following The Battle for Fort Trinity was a Sad Duty. I got this quest because of completing Break the Bone ship, which was proceeded by Munition Acquisition, which was proceeded by Tower Down, which all was a result of selecting “letting an innocent die” as my worst fear. If my friend did not choose the same answer, but rather chose either “Dishonored by allies” or “Making another suffer” as his worst fear, then his series of quests would be different.
The quests “A Sad Duty,” “Liberating Apatia,” and “Delivering Justice” mark the end of the personal choices made previously and wrap up that arc. After this point in the story, I believe all of the personal choices made up to this point are finished driving the narrative. All characters are then posed with all available options and are no longer effected by previous choices.
Good day,
After my friend and I completed the personal story Battle for Fort Trinity, my friend got a prompt asking him if he wanted to progress to A Sad Story or if he wanted to stay on The Battle of Fort Trinity. He selected to progress, not knowing it would change his personal story.
My personal opinion is that I am not impressed with this method. Instead of changing his personal story, it should be allowed that he just get credit for participating in The Battle of Fort Trinity, a quest which we both had, and let him continue on HIS personal story. Nowhere did it say, while prompting him to make a choice between the two options, that it would permanently change his personal story.
If the change cannot be made to the game so that he (or whomever) gets credit for the current story quest, and not be forced to pick up the other players (the one who initiated the quest) story, then it should be OBVIOUS that this change is going to happen to the persons personal story.
If possible, please reset The Battle of Fort Trinity for him.

PS: I am unsure whether or not this is the appropriate place to post this. Please forgive me if it is incorrect. The internal server error I have been getting makes it very difficult to navigate the forums.

I’m stuck on 59/60 as well, but I’ve figured it out. My last one will be Zho’qafa Catacombs.
This is where mine was as well. Thank you for mentioning it!
I have been having lag spikes on Maguuma lately too, I’d say for a little over a week. Things will be fine as I am running around in PvE, but sometimes, usually when I am in combat, I will hit HUGE lag spikes where everything on screen will freeze for a good 5 seconds. Sometimes the game almost totally crashes. I have also been booted off the server a few times during REALLY bad spikes.
I’ve been living with it for a while, and just tonight it finally killed me for the first time. I have checked my ISP, monitored everything running on my computer when it happens, and I am at a loss. None of my other games lag and I experience no other issues except in game.
Like the rest of the folks on this thread, I am not very happy. While I am not suffering to the degree that some are, it’s still much worse than it should be, and for shame that we should be dealing with a problem this pervasive! I hope a solution gets implemented soon, otherwise it will not bode well for those of us experiencing this issue and cause us to stop playing. It has already claimed some, the rest of us will eventually follow if it is not fixed.
