I usually play the game with my keyboard set to Dvorak, as that is how I type. Earlier today, I was playing the game on a different computer, which was set to qwerty. I only noticed when I began typing in the chat window. I pressed the key combo that switches keyboard layouts, and continued typing- which worked just fine, until I pressed enter, to send the message. The game immediately froze, message unsent, while the music continued to play.
This only seems to happen when switching from qwerty to dvorak- as far as I can tell switching from dvorak to qwerty works just fine.
This has now happened every time I’ve tried switching from the qwerty layout to dvorak, on two computers, while typing in chat. Switching layouts while not typing in chat doesn’t seem to cause any problems with the game.
Both computers I tried this on are running windows 7, and I don’t get any error messages or anything- the game just freezes.
I type in Dvorak, too. I haven’t had any problems playing in Dvorak- the game, for me at least, acts as you suggest, with the keys mapped properly automatically. Have you tried running the game with your keyboard set to Dvorak?
…Or maybe it’s not working on Macs? I’ve only played in windows, where I can assure you that it works.
