If they nerf tornado in this way, they would have to increase the life & toughness pool when in tornado, Like necromancer elite, or it would just be useless.

—> Lingering Elements does not work with damage modifiers, it works only with 5 minor trait of fire/earth/water/air, sadly.

Thougt my HP also changes because at 3 min I don’t have 5 guard stack.

Well, it’s really depends on the ratio Critical Damage/Ferocity.
If Overall stat of celestial are not buffed to compensate, I’ll probably forget it & take some Valkyrie armor + Toughness/Power/Precision

But i’ll lose 10-15% I think. Will probably give up my celestial armor :/

If you want to watch the build while Zerg versus Zerg, look at my other vidéo, especially epidosode 2 & 3. But blobing is not my favorite thing.
Even if it’s à Tier 1 Server.
And They don’t interrupt me thanks to à buff called stability, perhaps :P

As stated previously, i’m already writing a long guide for staff elem, which include different possible build I’m using, trait & gear. This guide is for my guildies but will also be uploaded here as soon as it’s ready.
Sadly I’m running celestial armor and it will be nerf with critical damage rework…

The build you just linked is really nice for dps, but the problem is the lack of regen and toughness.
No 15 water / No 30 arcana & only 2300 armor is not enough.
I feel more confortable with at least 2700 armor.

I’ve been playing DD a long time. Staff offer more global CC, more DPS, & more survivability in raid. The DPS is more static thought.
And, hm, it’s a guild build, sorry :S

I tried both Divinity & Scholar. Scholar gives a bigger burst at the start of the fight, but divinity become better if the fight lasts longer than 10s

The problem with water 6 & scholar is that you got 20% damage only when at more than 90% life. In WvW it occurs nearly… never. Even with retaliation you can get under this 90%.
And about sigil, sigil of fight (3stack of might while switch) offer more damage than sigil of force (5% damage).
+10% damage roughly equals +150 power, so let’s calculate.

You can see mostly 8-9k & one 14k.

Versus pick up, you can see a 18k & 19k, at 4:50. Just pause the video to see the damage easier.

I don’t think so.
In a fight we always get under 90% HP so… But I’ll try it anyway.
I plan to go 20 in fire, take the new “Cleansing Fire” trait. More purge condition + 3 stacks of might thanks to fire trait that gives +3 stacks of might with cantrips.

And perhaps only the blasting staff in Arcana, investing 10 inside.
I have to see if it’s viable to run without the actual V arcana trait.
(Sorry if I don’t know the english name of the trait, I’m French)

I’m planning to release a tutorial for my guildies, elementalist in WvW, I’ll will share it here, I’m just waiting the 10th december update, because there will be some change in my build.

@Volfie, I’d advice you take V & VIII & arcana, VIII is a must have for all staff ele.
And thanks to 5 minor arcana, fury. You’ll have enough precision so you can change your zerk armor with valkyrie without losing dps.

Let’s sum up some tricks & tips for Staff elementalist

- Use lightning Flash after casting meteor shower to retreat, it does not cancel the skill
- Use tornado after meteor shower, it adds you 1500 power & precision = X2 dps.
