Extra account for sure. 800 gems converted is only 80 – 90g. If you get a new account, through laurels and crafting bag alone you will make 50g+/month by just logging in. Heck if you are able to buy multiple accounts. Over time you can use that spare passive 50g/month or more to buy gems through gold and buy all the things like character slots and banktabs on your main account.
Could you explain the laurels and crafting bag part? I understand laurels thanks to Google, but how does the crafting bag play into this?
Thanks. That’s what I was thinking, right now I’m leaning towards buying another copy only because it’s so cheap, and I’m not sure how often sales like this happen. I won’t use the key until I need it, and if I don’t end up using it I guess I can gift it to a friend.
This is an awesome idea! As someone who just picked up the game having someone I can just send a quick message to on a random (undoubtedly embarrassing) simple question is great.
Many thanks, I’ll remember to try and help out when the next sale happens too.
So like many others I finally got around to GW2 because of the sale, got the deluxe edition.
What would be more useful, spending $10 on a regular copy of GW2 or buying 800 gems on my deluxe account?
I most likely will want to have at least 1 of each profession, so that means I’ll need an extra 3 slots sometimes in the future (unless 3 professions are so boring I don’t want them which would be perfect, we’ll see on that). Instead of spending $30 down the road I could spend $10 now and get 5 slots instead of 3. But what would I be missing? Would I be able to mail enough stuff from one account to the other to make it worthwhile, or is having the account bank a big enough advantage that it makes more sense to buy character slots later on when I need them.
Any advice would be welcome. What would you do as a new player?
