I own the Ghastly Grinning Shield!
I got mine myself from the Mad King Chest.
I’ve been playing GW2 since day one.

Here’s my opinion:

It should not make a return. The skin was not a craft recipe but actually a “drop” from the Mad King Chest. You had to have gotten lucky to achieve the skin back then.

But… If people insist on a return, make it a chance item as well. Make it an extremely low ratio of obtaining from something similar to the Mad King Chest.

The skin is still available though. It’s not gone. But if you truly want it, I believe you should work for it because it’s a limited edition skin that few people of the community have saved and will have saved over the past year and years to come.

Here’s an idea … read a games TOS/COC that you are required to agree to and understand it BEFORE you make a name that’s obviously going to get changed.

Sorry, I was lost in ignorance and being a humble person totally made me forget about the easily offended people in the world. Didn’t really think it was going to be changed, seeing as I made it for the reasons in my post.

Oh well, A-Net doesn’t approve, that’s fine.
Just hoping they implement the feature sometime in the future.

i think i understand your feeling about the name, i would suffer if i couldn’t be known as Amadan… though Amadan is an irish word for foul (i’m not irish) a name for a nasty fairy, and has some relevance to my person and character…
are you sure you want to be associated with a fart? it is considered a swear words and even if you have history with it you can’t be possibly unaware of the meaning and the fact that this is a fantasy world about legendary heroes not farts (and even if i find it funny) some people would simply not be able to be immersed in the game (they already complain about rainbow unicorn shooting bows and purple butterfly on male mesmer, do you really want to add farts to their life?).

if i can be helpful i suggest you to llok at your new name differently: it is still a fart, but silent and nastier, you know it is an anagram but people won’t see that coming!

The name had history with previous MMO’s, friends, guilds, etc. Nothing more. That’s why I used it, so I was easily identifiable to those people.

Oh well, I hope they implement this kind of name change some day. Lol.

No offense but Legendary Fart sounds ridiculous, and it seems you deserved that automatic name change for being ignorant with your name. But I would like to hear this “History behind your name, Significance of it, and how your gaming history was bound by this ridiculousness.”

I’m not here to cry about how I want my name back or anything such. A-Net didn’t like my name, that’s fine, but I’d like to change it to something relevant to myself. The player.

I’ve used the name for years on various MMO’s and my friends and guildies have appointed me as so for those years. That’s the significance of it, A-Net doesn’t approve, that is fine, but now they’ve left me with something that doesn’t display me well.

Which sparked the idea that I should suggest the display name change implementation. Nothing more. Lol.

NOTE: Irrelevant replies were posted regarding my previous name. It seems that I have to simplify this post to better suit the ignorant audience. This thread is here to suggest the implementation of Display Name Changes.

My previous display name was “Legendary Fart” and it was suddenly changed to “Legendary Raft”. I’ll be the first to admit that Legendary Fart is immature and ridiculous, but besides those facts, the name held significance to my gaming history on various MMO’s. I’ve used the name for YEARS and my friends and guildies easily identified me in the game.

Arena Net wasn’t happy with the name, that is fine with me, but I would have liked to have had the option to change it myself. Legendary Raft is completely irrelevant to how I wanted to be displayed on GW2.

I really like DreamOfACure.4382’s suggestions and I agree completely;

- 1 FREE display name change for a GW2 account
- Additional display name changes would have to be purchased

(And to save further hassle; In conclusion, I’m here to suggest the implementation of a display name change. I don’t care if I deserved the change, if the name was ridiculous, or if Raft sounds better than Fart. I STILL THINK WE NEED A DISPLAY NAME CHANGE FEATURE. Lol)

I do apologize if this was intended, but after the update I just noticed that dual wielded weapons look extremely odd in their placement. Take a look.

Notes: I have changed the height of my character 3 times. Maybe that is the cause.

Arena Net,

I’d love to adjust my looks and height for my character. I’ve been waiting for this ever since I got to level 80 and as I’m nearly 100% map completion it’s increasingly bothering me.

Not being happy with my character cosmetically is holding me back from progressing so far because it’s a drag to look at my Norn personally.

A lot of us would be very appreciative if you would place character makeovers in the gem store ASAP!
