Hey everyone! We’ve found that there is indeed an issue with Mad King Says rewards and are currently looking into a fix.

If you didn’t receive the mask, try participating in Mad King Says using a character that did not receive a Mad King Says reward (Witch’s Hat) last year. This should get around the issue and let you get the Mask of the Night.

Mad King Says runs until Friday Nov 1st at 9AM PDT, so you will still have an opportunity to participate. Thanks for your patience!

Hey everyone! We’re aware of this bug and are looking into it. I believe the bug is caused by being super aggressive with the candy corn as Tassi is finishing talking about how to throw it at him. So if you’re running into this, wait a few moments between throws.

A fix will be incoming once we verify the cause! Thanks for your patience.

I can address a few of these bugs:

  • Floor resetting: This is a side-effect of the boss not losing its armor upon wiping. As an additional note, you can explode a holo next to him at any time to reset the floors. Hope that helps
  • Weird teleportation: This one’s on me. Basically what’s happening here is that the teleportation is only supposed to kick in if you accidentally get yourself inside the Holopirate Generator’s collision (via a teleport skill etc). The teleport is a failsafe to prevent you from getting stuck. Unfortunately, the collision on these generators gets smaller once you destroy them, so the area you’re teleported from is now accessible to just running into it. I have a fix for this queued up for the next non-hotfix build. My apologies to those running into this!
  • Clockheart resetting: Right now there’s a few issues with the Clockheart resetting. They can be worked around, but a fix is incoming. After the fix goes in, the Clockheart will remove shielding & super charge & teleport back to the center platform as soon as a wipe occurs, ensuring future runs post-wipe will go exactly as planned.
  • Holograms not spawning: This seems to be a rare issue that we’ve noticed but haven’t been able to pin down the exact cause. We’re looking into it and will hopefully ironclad that issue from occurring.

Hey everyone. I know there’s some folks upset by the decision to make this new level 80 path in Twilight Arbor take the place of the Forward Up path. I hear the complaints directed toward that fact. That said, there’s several reasons why we came to the conclusion we did.

From a lore perspective, the story of Twilight Arbor repeatable is a lot like a “what if?” situation. Who gets to the Nightmare Tree first? Scarlet is now present in the arbor, and that presence has a very tangible effect on how the Nightmare Court can pull off their race to the tree. Because of that presence, the possibilities are narrowed, and Fyonna will not be able to make it to the tree in time.

From a design standpoint, we want the Living World updates to change and have an impact on the world. Earlier in the year, Colin gave the example of blowing up a dungeon and replacing it. This is very much that example in action. Because the explorable paths of Twilight Arbor were very similar from a content perspective, we made the decision to create a new path to revitalize one of the existing ones. Forward Up was one of the least played dungeon paths in the game, and was the best candidate for doing something like this.

I know my explanation won’t make everyone happy, but I hope it at least gives you some insight into the decision we made. Everyone on the team is really proud of how the new path has come together, so I’m hoping you give it a try on Tuesday and let us know what you think.

There is absolutely going to be Halloween this year. The Mad King wouldn’t miss out on an opportunity to come back and share his latest batch of terrible jokes. And open a spot for you in his lovely tower.

With the first update for October hitting on the 1st, the next update afterward would hit with plenty of time to spare before Mad King’s day.

Hey guys I was getting ready to post some info for you, but saw this thread and thought it would be the most fitting place. I’ve been reading through the threads so far and wanted to write on a few points brought up.

Our team’s put a great deal of effort into getting this new dungeon path right, so that it is both challenging and fun. We’re comprised of folks that worked on the Aetherblade Retreat, as well as myself from Molten Facility, so we’ve been putting everything we’ve learned from the past months’ development into what we think is a pretty exciting experience.

There’s a whole lot to do in this dungeon, even after the final boss is downed. Expect some nods to the existing TA paths, as well as a few to previous Living World dungeons. You’ve probably already seen some in the screenshots & trailer released so far.

Our hope is that once you get in there, you’ll see why this is the primary thing we’ve been working on. That said, Halloween is just around the corner, and you won’t be waiting too long after Twilight Assault to see what we’ve got in store for you with this year’s Mad King shindig.
