Must have! :
*- Inspect button
I see this as a great feature to check what your group members is gearing up with when teaming up against something important such as a dungeon or a raid in WvWvW. It would be like an insurance for those that make random teams or recruit “strangers” to their group. Also a great way to spread the word about your fashion tastes when someone inspects you.
*- Dynamic Events difficulty scale based on Win/Lose
Scaling dynamic events based on the amount of players is good but still not enough from my opinion. It should get a little buffed when there are a large number of players like mobs casting more and diverse skills, spawning more powerful mobs etc. One of the aspect I was thinking is about an event being won over and over and over again despite if it’s won by 30 members participating or 4 members. When an event is won repeatedly it shouldn’t start again the same way, it should spice up things like spawning Veteran mobs or even Champion mobs until the event itself is winning! If the event is winning, then players will be more motivated to participate in and really put up an intense fight, despite the fact that they did it another time cause this time it WILL be different. At this state how I see dynamic events are really fun and enjoyable to participate at BUT not more than a few times, then they die and people just pass them with the idea “I already did that once”. If this method is implemented or any kind that would bring up a change in the difficulty, it would motivate players to re-enter old events and try them to challenge themselves, once more regarding their level.
*- Auto-loot
I don’t see it a must in PvE but dang I so need it in PvP. It’s getting frustrating to smash loot key more than actual skills just to not miss any loot or get yourself in danger cause you forgot 1 loot bag near enemy base.
*- Minor stat advantage on gear based on the methods of obtaining them
Motivation is the key to a great foundation of any kind. Guild wars 2 offered a bright future to the gaming world when they spread the word about it BUT does it shine like it was back then ? It’s hard for me to do a dungeon repeatedly for loot that doesn’t really matter since I can do the same outside them. Improve item loots or materials in dungeons. When I reached level 80 I wanted to max out my crafting (which I did) to craft exotic gear and after I was finished, I felt strong and had to seek “more power” but it was kinda disappointing to find that I already have best gear in-game so the next question that came up to me was “what’s the purpose of doing dungeons ?”. Ok, I get it, it’s fun without a doubt and had a really great time doing them but to re-do them ? No way, too much effort for such little reward, a brand new skin. Ok, it was unfarmable due to the high difficulty which we all love but making them now easy and farmable ? It would be just lame and boring. That’s not the kind of motivation I need to re-enter dungeons => less time spent inside Guild Wars 2.
Example : Level 80 exotic chest – crafted – 100 defense , 100 vit, 100 whatever.
Level 80 exotic chest – dungeon – 110 defense, 105 vit, 105 whatever.
Spice things up ? implementing something like HEROIC mode for a dungeon =>
Level 80 exotic chest – heroic – 120 defense, 110 vit, 110 whatever.
The stats aren’t HUGE difference, you won’t be 1 shoting people let’s be honest and the game will still remain skill based BUT it WOULD have an impact on motivation to challenge something that is hard but rewarding, keeping you in-game for a longer period of time.
*- Guild System privileges reworked so it can be more customisable
I hope that the game it’self would live up to his name “Guild…” and was expecting a more complex ranking system with more in-depth customization features so that leaders can really personalize it. I find it hard to do so when I am forced to give someone privilege to invite players but at the same time that specific rank is able to KICK members. That just narrows my privileges and ranks they way I want them to work.
*- Preview button in Trading post (and on Inspect if they implement it)
If the game is very focused on appearance then I find a “must have” preview button in Trading post so I know how the gear i’m buying looks like or why it’s so expensive when it gives the exact same stats.
I’m with Mraz on this one tbh, i have saved every penny for months to get enough money to preorder it. Some of us don’t live in a high buget areas with good salaries. But still sacrificed something for the exchange of having fun and playing GW2. I have FPS problem, I played on the 25th and 26th of August great, 10 hours strong with 40-50 FPS in average crowded areas, around 20 ppl around me. But starting with 27th of August, in the morning I turned my PC on, launched GW2 and out of nowhere, my FPS was down to 5-7. Unplayable. I tried 90% of what Mraz posted that he tried and I didn’t gain even 1 FPS. As he stated I can play many other games on high/ultra settings with ease, hell… i played GW2 all of the beta’s i could and even 2 days of Headstart with nothing to worry about. Then when the FPS droped to 5… hell. Every day i struggled to get high fps with no succes. The only times I did manage to get my normal fps back is by staying up all night, around 03:00 AM till 08:00 AM I could start my game and have the time of my life. Even if I stood up untill the next day, I could play ALL day with no worry. If I shutdown my PC just for 30 minutes, and relaunch the game, 5 fps back. But now, I can’t play even at night. Never. Constant 5 fps. It’s clearly something to do with the servers. Some speculations say that in online games, if there are players with LOW end PC and network connection, the higher end are pulled down. And mainly cause game servers can’t keep them all balanced. I’m no expert, i’m just desperate.
) I’m just saying that I hate the idea, lower down the tax rate or take it off OR implement a tax based on the amount of time an item you want to register it. This way you can fix the overwhelming item counts in the trading post that are simply forgotten there due to high price or whatever reason. An expiration date at least, but anyway the taxes are the ones that should be looked at.
