I’m a musician and looking at the in-game harp and lute. Are there any guilds that play music together? That would be fun.
Thanks. Your answers helped, as did the Wiki’s “Outfits” entry:
• Outfits are full-body costumes that hide currently equipped armor.
• Players can hide or show an outfit at any time in the Hero panel. This setting will remain set in any game area.
• Players can hide or show the helmet of their outfit at any time in the Hero panel by clicking the checkbox on the helmet while the outfit is toggled on
• Each outfit has up to four dye channels to customize colors uniformly across the entire outfit.
I was a bit confused, because there is still some holdover “town clothes” text scattered about on the Wiki.
Ah. So I could take off the hat and lose its appearance but also its benefits. I can’t just “hide” it… ?
If I were to purchase the pirate costume through the gem store, would I be able to disable just the hat?
I feel kind of dumb here. Is there a way to teleport a party member to your location? I can’t figure out how to do it.
Something like Conjurer (elementalist major trait) looks like I can use it at level 60, but the content for it (an Edge of the Mists map) looks like it is level 80 content. Am I missing something? For 10 silver and 2 skill points, it looks like it would be more practical to buy it.
Hi. I’ve just gotten above level 30 for the first time on a character and have done a little reading on the wiki about how traits work.
Has anyone put together a (current) traits guide that makes suggestions about which traits are practical to purchase from trainers and which are easy to capture in-game?
Also is there a good clearinghouse site for builds (like there was on the original Guild Wars Wiki that forked off and became its own wiki) that cross-references traits and where to get them?
Okay, so if I want to increase my storage, I can spend 600 gems to get 30 vault slots (20 gems per slot) or 400 gems to get an extra bag on a character (20 gems per slot best), or I can spend 800 to get a new character slot with a potential 100 slots with no unlocks (8 gems per slot). So, ignoring shuffle-time, the most efficient way to upgrade storage is unlocking more character slots, right?
Hi, so my friend and I are new to this game and we are both going to create Human characters to start with. If we want to team up a lot, should we pick the same personal story options upon character creation, or does it not matter?
Thanks! I realize it’s an imperfect match, but we’re an imaginative team. Thanks for the pointers!
Hi,
So, my brother and I have been playing various RPGs for ever and ever. I finally got a Mac that can handle this game and he’s about to get an account. We’ll probably dabble in all the professions and races.
But—for old time’s sake, we’ll probably resurrect some version of our old AD&D characters from decades gone by to play together (his will be a bowfighter Human Ranger, mine will be a air/fire Human Elementalist). We’d be interested in doing the most nostalgic, throwback-type RPG storyline there is (medieval architecture, ogres and troll type adversaries, dungeon crawling, dragons, more emphasis on magic than commerce, treasure above sappy romance). Any advice?
(Note: I know that the Sylvari storylines sometimes go to Arthurian places, but the aesthetic is just too different to evoke the kind of nostalgia we’re after. Humans is where it’s at for these 2.)
Will appreciate any feedback! Go gamers!
