so occasionally i will decide to buy out someone’s supply of an item on the tp. we’ll use my latest as an example. jug of hard apple cider. the tp says there are a mere 11 of them available for 4s99c. so i buy those 11. well, there are still 11 available for 4s99c. i keep buying, and there were a total of 151 available at 4s99c. and this is a common occurrence across the entire tp. why can’t the tp advertise the correct volume of stock it has available?

so you think it’s more worthwhile to play a longer game with a higher volume of standing listings than to try to get some lesser profit by continual undercuts. ok, thanks for the advice

To anyone who plays the tp a good bit:
i’ve started messing around with the tp. i broke my wrist (falling off a ladder), so i don’t have good range of motion in my left hand right now, which makes playing my current 80’s as cash earners. my answer to this is to spend a bunch of time on the tp while i recover to earn golds.

I’ve been finding many of my auctions undercut, not by a handful of copper, but drastically, like 5-10s sometimes (when i post a new item, i undercut by 1c the lowest price, so it’s not like i’m asking ridiculous amounts for my stuff).

my question is this: do you find it more cost-effective, when you have many of an item (say, 100+), to buy the undercut items for resale, take down and repost your items undercutting the lower priced ones, or to wait on the undercut items to sell before you maybe get the revenue stream back from your current listings?

So I’ve just returned to the game to see if it keeps my interest now. As we all know, I’m sure, this game (and most mmo’s) get pretty boring alone. Therefore, I’m looking for a guild on Sorrow’s Furnace that’ll have me. I’m not going to server transfer or guest, so only looking for SF guilds. I did play at (or near) launch, and I managed to level my mesmer to 80…but I’ve done very little else but questing and exploration, so I’ve not gotten into any endgame stuff (dungeons, fractals, etc). I don’t care what level or gear quality you are. If you’re on when I’m able to be on, I’d love to help you do whatever. I just want to chill with some peeps and have fun with the game. I’m not going to fill out a job application. I’m not going to bring drama…just myself, when I can.

As I mentioned, I have my 80 mesmer, and I also now have a character of every other class (none high enough level to say much else about). I’d like to level them as well, but again, don’t want to do it solo. One was enough that way.

i swear there’s an option somewhere that makes this happen, and has been since launch. look for something like “aoe effects on target”

of course, it’s been a couple months since i played…lots of work and a freshly fixed computer, and i’m about to hop back in within the next couple days, so it’s possible they’ve changed/removed it while i’ve been gone, but….check
