Guild Wars 2

Actually, I believe it would encourage people to take a break from the pc to earn something in the game. Perhaps I’m wrong, but I was thinking about something like a mini-game that’s connected to GW/GW2. I don’t know about you, but sometimes I’m not able to log on for weeks, although I can bring my phone with me almost everywhere.

You seriously think that every game-related app has to be like Pokémon Go? It was just an example since I didn’t feel that geocaching would quite catch what I meant in terms of a game.

As of late I’ve been completely unable to avoid noticing how extremely popular the latest Pokémon Go has become and honestly, it has made me a bit jealous. I love being outdoors but I also love playing Guild Wars, so now I’m really longing for something like an app that’s connected to your Guild Wars and Guild Wars 2 account. And I can’t be the only one, right?

I’m thinking something along the lines of gaining points for outdoor activities, maybe a new kind of currency to trade your points into items? Perhaps being able to unlock more lore? Maybe a bit like Hall of Monuments from the first Guild Wars? Not quite sure how to make the app rewarding to “play” on its own though, like how to connect the app to the actual game?

Any ideas on what the rewards culd be? And how it should work, preferably so that it won’t clash with too many apps that are already available? And what would make you, as a player, interested in continuing to use an app as such?
