Okay awesome, thanks guys. Just wanted to make sure because I heard you don’t get level rewards and I know that’s usually where the hero points come from (neglecting challenges). With my luck, I figured I would use it then have to grind all the hero points out still :P

I was just wondering if the level 80 boost unlocks all skills and specializations. I started the trial and it seems to unlock them, but I wasn’t sure if that was permanent. I already have an 80 character and I hadn’t played for almost 2 years, but I leveled another character to 25 as a refresher to catch me up and now I feel like I have most of it down again.

I am mainly interested in working on my elite specs for my 2 characters, so I just wanted to make sure that I wouldn’t have to go back and unlock all the specs and skills again.

That’s cool, I didn’t know that used to be meta it’s just the weapon combo that I personally like (greatsword is my favorite type of melee weapon and I’m also a fan of bows for ranged combat). I won’t delete my character, but I’m also not sure if I want to start all over on a new character either. I guess the real question is if I missed enough to make starting over worth it to learn everything or if I can figure my way around on my 80 and learn from there.

I’m also having a heck of a time deciding on a profession. I tried Dragonhunter, Reaper and Herald in PVP on dummies and they are all fun (and I would likely pick one of them). I guess the hard part is deciding which to main. I don’t particularly care which is the “strongest” in meta, but I would be interested in knowing which fits what role specifically (like if one favors a support role or another favors tanking).

Sorry, I’m just lost with all the new content and the new elite specs. It’s cool stuff, but I’m bad with deciding things like this lol.

Hi, I used to play GW2 about 3 years ago, and I ended up leveling a Guardian through crafting extremely quickly (got 80 in 3 days, I enjoyed crafting what can I say) and it ruined the game for me (I skipped way too much story and combat leveling like this).

I ended up quitting and then pre-ordered HoT when I heard about that. I just now got around to actually installing and playing it, and I created a Revenant character to start fresh with. I got the character to 19 and have been having fun re-learning the game, but I’m thinking that I like Guardian more and especially like the idea of Dragonhunter. For fun, I played both the Dragonhunter and Herald in the PVP training area on dummies to see how each played and the abilities they each get.

In short, so much has changed since I first played, and crafting caused me to skip a lot of the original story and combat system to begin with (I got my character to around 30 to begin with, then got to 80 through crafting). I’m not sure if I’m better off starting a new character to learn everything, or if I can learn/explore just fine on a previous level 80. I have full exotic gear and a few other cool things on my original character, which is why I’m hesitant to restart.

As a side note, how do I decide on a build for Dragonhunter? I’d like to play it with a longbow and greatsword, but I just get confused with all the build options. Ideally a DPS/Support build would be great. Thanks!

Hi I’m a level 80 Guardian, but I haven’t played in over 2 years and I literally forgot everything, plus they have added a bunch of new stuff so I’m just plain confused. I was hoping to find someone who could run me through all of the things, like what dailies and fractals are, what I should be doing to get Ascended equipment and money (currently have Exotic gear), etc. I can’t even remember how to play my class properly, it has been such a long time since I last played. If someone would be willing to dedicate some of their time to teach me in game I would be very appreciative, although I don’t really expect anyone to, just hoping. I’d be willing to help out with guild related dungeons/runs/whatever once I got the hang of things, but I’m afraid that I’m pretty useless at the moment, as I’m completely clueless as to what I should be doing. Thanks.
