For the last 2 weeks I’ve been grilling my brain over “Why” the setup.exe wouldn’t begin the download. It had nothing to do with my ISP or connection, Nothing to do with firewalls or permissions, so I couldn’t figure out what it was. Then it hit me; for some reason, AVG doesn’t play well with certain types of software, so if that’s what you’re using, sorry to say but you have to uninstall it. I tried turning it off, changing the rules in the advanced options, and a couple other things and none of it worked. The second I uninstalled it, the setup program ran like a charm.

Make sure you enable your Windows Firewall or whatever you have, they’re not the problem (Most likely). And granted, this solution is probably only for those who have AVG installed. Hope this helps some folks.

If you have AVG go ahead and uninstall it. You won’t be able to download the client until AVG is out. I don’t know why, but it must be some kind of conflict with the two types of software. I tried Everything from changing permissions to adding rules to the firewall and even shutting down AVG and my firewall. The second I uninstalled it, the downloader started.
