Hello,
I’ve recently acquired a new laptop that I intended for gaming. It is the Acer Aspire E5-573G-56RG, OS Win10, running an i5-5200U and NVIDIA GeForce 940M. Since then I’ve had no issues running games like Skyrim and Pillars of Eternity on high settings (though I’ve tried to use lower settings to keep CPU cool).
However, when I play the game Guild Wars 2, even on low settings, it seems to make the laptop hot to the touch. One day, I received the error message “WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR” while watching a video after exiting GW2 and the PC force restarted itself. I thought maybe it was just a one-time thing, but the next day I’m laying in bed watching YouTube videos (a couple of hours after playing GW2) and it gets the same error. Does anyone know what I can do about this?
I’ve included my OpenHardwareMonitor report in the attachments section below.
Thanks

Hi.
I know nothing about computer lingo, and had trouble finding this in the first place. Just a heads up. All I know is that my computer is a laptop and not a very good one at that. I’ve had it for around 3 years.
I recently bought GW2, and have always gotten a low FPS (around 10-15). I expected that, though, as my laptop is casual and not a gaming computer. Recently, however, I’ve been hitting <10 FPS. I switched from Devona’s Rest to HoR. Now, wherever I go (ranging from nearly empty space to Lion’s Arch), I am getting ~5 FPS. Does the world switch play any part in my low FPS?
Also, I do not know if I am able to update my drivers, or if I should just save up some money and buy a desktop in about a year or so. I would really love to continue playing this game, but am coming to a realisation that I may have to buck up and deal with not playing the game for a while.
So, the question is: is there anything short-term—whilst I wait to buy a desktop—that I can do to solve this problem?
P.S. If there is no foreseeable fix to this dilemma, any tips on buying a relatively cheap yet gaming-friendly desktop PC would be greatly appreciated.
P.P.S. I’ve attached my DxDiag, though only because it looks like it could help my cause. I’ve no idea what it’s for, admittedly. But I leave that up to the techies to figure that out for me.
Thanks in advance,
Lord Palindrome
