guardian has alot in common with the old GW1 prot monks, sure the heals are pretty low, but the amount of dmg we are stopping with shared aegis, protection and projectile reflects/ blocks needs to be considered

So mind wracking with 3 clones out would do 3 clones worth of damage but in 4 instances? (1 at each clone and 1 on you)?

Since the specializations patch that made Illusionary Persona baseline, and that shatters seem to max out at 3 clones. does that mean shattering 3 clones is just as effective kittentering 2 inc yourself?

I love almost everything, i REALLY dislike solar beam. looks and feels really clunky. not at all fluid like the rest of the combat system. i would be totally OK with reworking it altogether, even if its just visually. staff #3 needs to be an evade and i need to be able to combo the blast and water field in celestial form.

meanwhile pets in the jade maw encounter get instakilled and eat precious focus from the boss making me regret bringing my ranger at all. pets instantly dying against mai trin. almost every single boss encounter in high level play has your pet die in unavoidable ways, leaving a kitten class that WILL contribute less than any other class. creating a situation where I am repeatedly kicked from parties before even entering the instance.

Us rangers desperately need some Pet AI fixes and some love please :x

I know I’m just another voice in the crowd, but my 2 cents is this.
I tried to play this crazy boon share in pvp, and got shut down immediately every time by boon corrupt or just heavy condi w/o cleanse on my build. i don’t miss it at all.

But the thing that hurts is the sheer response time to smack it down. we have had unresponsive and weak pets for a long time and 2 sets of utilities (spirits and shouts) that are ALMOST useless or at least very niche since launch.

Builds that DOMINATE pvp have been around for months with little to no response, builds that not only stack 25 might easily BUT also do it for the group. rangers had huge uptime on boons, sure, but only for us and the pet. Barely game breaking.
Also its 02:30 for me so please excuse any rambling or bad english :x

I’m sorry but stealth is kitten strong and there needs to be options to fight it. it’s so frustrating to fight a thief or mesmer and have a really close fight just for them to invis away and me sit around picking my nose waiting to get one shot. it lets you get uninterrupted stomps and rezzes and is kitten strong. now that there are SOME reveals to counter play so you don’t auto win or escape every fight you’re getting upset? play around them and try to bait the reveals out maybe? you make it sound like the reveals are permanent.

You sound like you have no experience playing thief. One shot? Autowin? Yeah, you don’t play thief. But please, prove me wrong and screenshot your pvp stat screen including games played on thief.

I should’ve been clearer, but after a close fight the thief or mesmer can stealth away from any unfavourable situation and either run and EASILY escape or reset the fight often coming back in a far healthier state and finishing off the mess they started. I dont bring sic em on my ranger. and even with carrion runes i find myself burst down in seconds. I’m not saying I’m good at pvp. I’m very new to it. but i have no answers or ability to deal with that, my pets wont follow, i wont chase you into a shadow refuge to drop a trap as ill just die in that. so instead i wait, try to heal up then eat a 4 venom backstab and basically die. now you can (and probably will) say L2P!
But the fact remains that stealth is VERY powerful and a very small amount of abilities (one per class) deal with it, and taking those skills often means gimping yourself against non stealth players. so maybe you should learn to play around these reveals just as much as i need to learn how best to deal with stealth itself?

-The only venom that competitive thieves run is basilisk.
-If a thief is in Shadow Refuge, its because they’re trying to recover, don’t let them sit there and do it. Place your aoes on the ring, use your wolf’s fear, etc..

-Is there a debuff that stops your class from clearing condis, using your burst, or regenerating health? No? Welcome to reveal for thief.

That one minute cooldown SR that you dropped to rez a teammate? Don’t worry, engi can pop a 900 unit aoe reveal on a 30 second cooldown.

-with sb and axe/torch my only aoes are player based and running into the shadow refuge is usually a bad idea,

-i have MINIMAL control over my pets, how do i get my wolf in there ? i cant tell him where to move and the animation is like 2 seconds long, so hard to avoid.

- your shadow refuge has a 60 sec cd? ok pistol 5 and dagger 2? dagger 5? the stealth heal? shortbow 5 has a blink with 0 cd easy for escaping, the blind wall and dagger 2? steal has a stealth im pretty sure (working off the top of my head). that is all without actually opening up the game and reading through traits and all utilities. see an engi aoe reveal? retreat and come back just after?

It obviously isn’t the popular view, but I love the new trait system. everything seemed far too easy before. Having to explore and hunt out traits is far more exciting then just having them all and makes you feel good when you manage to unlock them.
We can’t have everything given to us at all times, it makes things boring.
I welcome the changes

just created my first ranger in the last few days, absolutely loving it.
i tend to consistently switch my active pets around, and constantly have to rename them everytime i put them away and sumon them again. it is becoming a real pain and im only level 14.please make it so that the names i give them stay there whether they are ‘in the bank’ or not

but more than that, i’m in a huge group of small mobs, using aoe and even after 3/4 of them die to my blade, i’m still not getting it refresh, if the trait worked like it does in outside pve, they’d be mostly perma-blinded

This mainly happens in instances, but the trait which causes the virtue of justice to cooldown after every kill i get doesn’t seem to work. it just stays on it’s full cooldown the entire time.
A trait as important as this often gets relied on, especially in explorable dungeons. and results in me getting bulldozed in situations that i should come out on top of. anyone else experiencing anything along these lines ?
