People seem to not agree at the moment, very divergent opinions. I’d like a more focused reading on the game. The Quarterly Reports are a proof that the game has had a loss, but how much? We can’t measure that very much. Yes, normally less sales, less players, but im sure it doesnt count the F2P part of it. Also, what if we’re seeing the same movement we see on WoW in Years? People flocking in when expansions arrive, play for 2,3 months then slowly declining until the next? Some people just dont care to log in for the LS.
I remember seeing WvWvW with queues most of the time, so why it is “dyeing”?
Haven’t been to PvP though

I’m really enjoying it. I stopped shortly after HoT came out. I complained it was too hard. I was frustrated. The truth is, I had one foot in another MMO at the time, and was basically just doing some dailies here and some world bosses with some alts when HoT came around. I had a full set of Ascended on my main, as well as a legendary Bifrost. Since I was already spending more time in the other game, I posted all my ‘this is too hard’ posts, and left, for about 15 months.
Coming back in the second week of December, I jumped into HoT and the story and was found it to be a blast, and couldn’t really figure out what I was complaining about. Now, I don’t know if it has been reduced in difficulty since it originally hit or not, but getting into all the map metas and learning how the maps worked and working on map achievements for points and leveling all the masteries up…it’s been a great time the past few months!
And then when I finished HoT and jumped into LW3:1-3, I was even more excited to see how it was progressing beyond that, and liked how they brought hearts back and turned them into repeatable options. LW3.4 is especially great for me, as I had commented a long time ago how it always seemed like end game zones took you to these goth, depressing landscapes, and how it would be nice to have a high end zone ‘that was like Queensdale, with centaurs and bandits and saving towns and such’.
Well…there I go!
So yeah, really enjoying the game again.
THIS! What really got me back was the Head of the Snake, Divinity’s reach lore and such! It’s good to know more about the places we already know and love. Including this new trend of releasing a map every chapter is expanding the world the way it was meant to be
Hi! I’ve played GW2 on 2015 until i’d wear out. i’ve stopped just before the expansion and i’m playing it right now. From what i’ve seen it didn’t quite meet players expectations, but it seems that there are a lot of good feedback regarding recent living story updates like that they’re finally fixing some of the problems the game had. Is it true? What’s your opinion on it?
I’d like to some examples of MMOs that can generate content so quickly that it can keep you hooked to it forever, without Grind ou TimeGates….
There isn’t! Wow has been surviving of returning players to expansions for years!
I know we should always demand more and better, and that’s right, but there are things that are almost impossible to keep popping out constantly, mainly in a game as big as GW2.
Very interesting, seems the general opinion that the game got on its tracks.
Hot was indeed hyped a hell lot, and with no release date, it was a tough time indeed.
Good to know, so those twice a year big updates are gone? I’ve have to play the expansion and the new LS.
But indeed, better be judged by what you deliver than what you promise a.k.a. No man’s sky

I’ve looked the news feed and didn’t found many interesting posts, unless they’re annoucing stuff on livestreams now?
i am aware of the second expansion, probably targeting 2018?
I was quite happy that SAB got back but i didnt had the time to play it.
Hi! i played Guild Wars 2 until just after the expansion was released then i stopped because of Real Life work.
I’m going back now and i found out that Colin left ArenaNet and he was such a great guy, i’d like to know how GW2 is doing without him
Hi! Me and my friends have created this app for Overwolf that shows in-game notifications for when a boss is about to start.
For those who doesn’t know Overwolf, it is a platform that allow us developers to create apps that run on top of your favorite games.
Here is a video of the app: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8VbXJHtZZA
Although Overwolf hasn’t direct links it is called World Boss Notifier in the “GW2 App Challenge” http://storecdn3.overwolf.com/apps/gw2-app-challenge
Thank you very much! My other app for saving PvP Builds:

Hi! I’ve been looking for a GW2 poster to print and put up my wall. Happens that i have found none. After, browsing through the web i found some cool ideas and tried to recreate them.
Here are the results, one for The Original and one for HoT.
Tell me what you think!
If you want to give ideas of posters, i’m all ears!

Hey guys,
For my fellow Brazilian players, me and my guildies created a Youtube Channel for creating portuguese content.
Is at it’s very start but we’re working hard to make it grow.
Please check it out here:

Dont forget to like and subscribe if you like the Channel,
Thanks Very Much!
What exactly is the end game content, and how do all you find it fun? Because farming for gear when it’s acquisition won’t be noticeable in these large end game events really makes me think twice about finding gw2 exciting
Endgame in this game is what you make of it. Sounds stupid at first, but when you think about it it opens up a variety of things to do.
Looking at my friends and guildies, I see a ton of different “end games”, all in one game.
Some are into dungeons. They spend their time getting to know each dungeon path inside-out, what traits and utilities benefit which encounter, and how to get the most out of their characters and parties. They like to learn how to duo or even solo the bosses and encounters, how to skip past specific mobs in different ways, and how to best counter boss mob mechanics.
Others are into open world PvE. They like to map-complete with multiple alts, do world bosses, farm crafting materials and generally get the know every last bit of the maps and where to find whatever resource they are after.
Some like WvW the most, and spend most of their time on the borderlands and the eternal battlegrounds, either in small groups or guild zergs. They learn how to best trait and skill their classes for the situation at hand, which, depending on the kind (and size) of group and your goal, can be quite diverse. They progress their wvw experience bar and rank to gain wvw abilities that have a serious impact on their play in that game mode.
I have friends that almost exclusively pvp, because they enjoy that game mode the most, and/or would like to have access to a specific rank finisher (phoenix for rank 70+ seems to be sought-after the most right now
).
Others spend most of their time in the silverwastes to unlock the full set of luminescent armor skins on their account.
There’s roleplayers, trading post specialists, story lovers that spend their time leveling multiple alts to experience the personal (and living) story from different angles, compulsive collectors, fractal frequenters, and last but not least the jack-of-all-trades that enjoy dabbling in all of these fields depending on mood.
The one thing you will not widely find though is people focused exclusively on gear aquisition, as that is just not a big thing in this game. You have to find the part of the game that is fun to you because you like to play it, not because it gives you better gear. If you are a meticulous crafter, this may result in you focussing on crafting ascended gear, but for most people, ascended is more of a by-product of playing the content they like, just like a legendary is something that you (ideally) build resources for over a long time, instead of force-farming the resources in one go.
Check out more of the game than just zerg event trains, and find the spot that appeals to you because you enjoy playing it. Rewards will come in by themselves, but focussing exclusively on them instead of enjoyable gameplay is (unfortunately) a pretty good way to burn out on this game quickly, as that isn’t how most (if not all) content is built.
This.
I see so many people arguing for content and all but, can you put one example of game that can deliver so much content plus and expansion at the same time? I don’t know of no one like that. I’m starting to think that the easy leveling we have in GW2 actually hurts more than helps, since ppl reach level 80 fast and then, mentally, the “game is over”.
I’m still discovering content of the game, of course not as much as when i started.
The funny thing to know is that the most played games in the world (LOL, CS:GO, etc) don’t get content as much we do in MMOs and yet no one is complaining.
I’m trying to guess how many players on peak hours since there’s no counter anywhere, the last info was from Feb 2014 (http://2p.com/4680897_1/Interesting-Numbers-about-Guild-Wars-2-You-Might-Not-Know-by-EdwardsLin.htm) stating that there was 460k online at some point.
Some dev could just say some data / statistics whatever. =/
Well, we cant know if it has more or less since there isn’t a “Online Player Counter”.
From my Point of View, I’ve been playing seriously since January, and Tequatl for example, always gets the map full, sometimes there are 2 or 3 instances of Tequatl that actually can beat him.
In the initial areas, i’ve seen enough players, ones completing the world, others from the sale, others just leveling another character as i was doing.
Sometimes you can get unlucky and end up in a almost-empty instance.
Though by judging the facts, GW2 is still the highest ranked game on mmorpg.com.
Comparing to WoW, when i played, like 1 year and a half back, stormwind was crowded with ppl. Now its just a ghost town. More and more we’re losing players to MOBAs.
