Something else the development team could work toward is allowing Orr to shift and change for those who have defeated Zhaitan.
This can be done in a similar fashion to how they implemented game changing code into GW1 with “Winds Of Change” where the afflicted are no longer in the zone and the zone is replaced with more of the non-afflicted mobs of that area.
This would allow the introduction of post-Zhaitan event chains to reflect having removed his corruption and working toward new things coming back and a rebuilding of Orr, etc.
Not only that, but then they could add an NPC (or other way) to allow you to change between pre and post-Zhaitan Orr.
In a way I almost expected that at some point it would maybe work like this instead of having a perpetual pre-Zhaitan.
I would like this too, but it would require splitting the player base in two: those who have and haven’t defeated Zhaitan. Which would make Orr even emptier.
WoW lost 1.5 million ppl wis this Majic Asian style. Try and RIP GW2…..
And GW gained about half a million (or more) with it. Maybe Blizzard just didn’t implement it well – or maybe their audience was not the same audience as the one of GW2. And I think Mists of *Panda*ria was more about the Pandas than about the things Cantha is about.
I’ve created a website using the API that lets you know when your preferred event is going to start. It plays a sound and shows an alert when the events you selected are in “Warmup” state. Feedback is always welcome and I hope this tool is found to be useful!
I would love Cantha to return! I never even liked Tyria or the Prophecies campaign, and part of the reason I bought Guild Wars 2 is so that I could experience Cantha and Elona all over again, even if it took a few years to make.
I would totally buy a Canthan expansion. I’m less likely to buy stuff from the cash shop. If NCSoft wants money, you know what to do.
I am writing this from a friend’s account since mine got banned and I can’t get access to the forums anymore.
The reason for this ban is that I “bot, and used macro’s”. I sincerely swear that I never did one of those things, and would never do them. I would say I haven’t got a clue why I got this ban, but I did a lot of alt-F4’s recently (during PvP tournaments), so I’m guessing this is what triggered it? I have no clue why I otherwise would have received this ban for.
In the message that pops up when I login, Arenanet states that this closure is permanent, but is this really so? I guess when they look at my logs, they will see that I’m no bot, but does this also mean this will lift my ban? I would like to play again in the future, especially because I already have two level 80 characters.

Same problem here. It should be up but it’s just a blank screen. No gem store or trading post access since headstart, but I could access it during the betas and stress tests.
EDIT: the problem might be a bit different for me. It doesn’t even start to load.
