Guild Wars 2

Can we get a toggle for the Dev Tracker so we can either choose which forums we want the Dev Tracker to cull or just have a separate Dev Tracker that doesn’t include Bug and/or Account Issues? It’d be great to stay up to date on class changes discussions and/or possible gameplay discussions (i.e. sPvP, WvW, general PvE thoughts) without digging through the rest of the bug, moderation, customer service discussions.

I submitted a score update to millennium but it’s probably going to take a while for that site to update. Kaineng has a slight lead, but when I logged about an hour ago they were still ticking +600 and change in the overnight and FC was at +60 income. FC doesn’t seem to pick up until the afternoon into the evening, so I think Kaineng winning this week is pretty much a foregone conclusion.

Congrats Kaineng. I don’t see FC or DR winning for awhile unless we get some sort of Far East infusion (and from the looks of this thread it seems more are on their way to Kaineng tasting blood.) Of course, speaking for Ferguson’s Crossing, we’d be more than happy to welcome some of our own international flair, but I don’t expect that until Kaineng makes its way to the next tier and there’s an easier time of coming to a server like FC with less of a Far East presence.

I’ll keep on fighting, but I still have to go to work and get some sleep at some point.

I really enjoy my elementalist the more I play. I understand the lack of weapon swap, but would love an out-of-combat one so I could swap in WvW a little quicker (higher on the wish list would be a full on equipment manager so I could rapidly swap between battles).

D/D elementalist has re-invigorated my love of the class. So many buttons!

I appreciate having at least the option of a Cider client. I don’t think it’s feasible to expect a native Mac client unless it’s done in lockstep with the first expansion. I don’t know how they could build a Mac client from the ground up and keep it synced with the PC version after the fact. I’m not aware of an MMO that’s done that successfully without going with a wrapper. Blizzard has been producing games on both Mac and PC at launch for awhile now.

Blizzard is doing it my friend. WoW definitely didn’t came out at launch on Mac.

Blizzard released every game since at least Warcraft 2 simultaneously for the PC and MAC. World of Warcraft definitely came out on the Mac at launch — the original box that I have from launch still has PC/MAC on the side (I didn’t switch to a Mac until 2008 however.)

To the earlier post regarding LOTRO doing it — please note that they are doing it with their Riders of Rohan expansion (although I have no idea if it’s releasing at that exact moment or not.) At this point they are constantly updating core elements of Guild Wars 2 PC and it’d be very difficult to keep both code bases in sync. I don’t see how they can release a native Mac client until they add a mess of developers and have some sort of milestone to hit (for example, an expansion.)

The list of MMO’s that offer ZERO option to play on a Mac outside of bootcamp is too long to list. If ArenaNet can justify it, I feel they will do it. I just believe it will take more time than what’s being discussed in this thread.

I do the Attunement Shuffle. I may someday graduate to the Attunement Boxstep.

I’m a newly minted 80 Elementalist in PvE and haven’t really touched sPvP yet due to time. My alts are mostly of a low level (2-17 currently with every profession represented except Necro so far). I feel like the Elementalist has the most potential to be high skill ceiling and rewarding once all the balancing settles itself out. I relied on a Lightning Hammer build for a good chunk of 40-70 and have settled with the D/D Elementalist build that daphoenix notes a few threads down (at least the thread is at this moment.)

I think between all the attunement swapping and the weapon choices to be made, along with the potential of conjured weapons, I love the flexibility of this profession. Tons more work for a player to do, and it really takes an understanding of auras/boons/combos/etc that other professions do not require, but I still really enjoy the playstyle.

Just make sure you Boot Camp it. The Cider client is nice if you are just leveling but you’ll prefer playing it in Windows. I have both on a 2011 17" MBP and a 2012 Retina MBP, and the boot camp option is definitely superior.

I’ve submitted a ticket but have no idea when I’ll hear back. My name was changed from Jewbacca to Catamaran Nights. I am, in fact, Jewish and I’m not insulted by my own name. I use this ID on both Twitter and Steam (along with some other online locations) and I’ve yet to run into someone that has had a negative reaction to my online handle.

If this action is not able to be appealed, I’d at least like the opportunity to create my own name. I did not do anything here that was designed to offend nor do I believe it warrants any sort of punishment.

That last video was ridiculous. Nice work.

It’s a beta client, but it’s running on the live servers. All your characters will remain when it becomes a final client and you are not separate from the live PC version.

Zephyr’s boon from 10 air is one of the best traits an elementalist has

I’m currently running that in PvE and Wv3. I dodge roll under water after casting water3 to distance myself and to provide a quick heal.

Do you find the 10 points in Air is worth it over the 30 points in Water? I went with your build with the Evasive Arcana but I had 30 points in Water (for Cleansing Water). Just curious to your philosophy. Thanks!
