I second this.
I use it on some OWPvE and WvW Zerg scenarios and works great.
If you have quickness (easy uptime with the right traits) the RoF is quite nice.

But yes, an increase in number of tgts to 10 would be great and make it a nice elite (maybe on the trait that improve the fields).

I like the OPs design change, I play wvw and pvp alot and I have always hated using mortar skill 1, idk about raiding since I don’t raid but I only ever have used mortar skill 1 for max range hits and never for anything else since it’s dmg scks, for the most part I prefer using my hammer for pvp and wvw and as such have no long range attacks outside elixir gun auto which is 900 range only.

Mortar skill 1 is definitely lacking in a lot, I’d rather use grenades or elixir gun auto than use mortar 1. I’ve never killed anyone single handedly because of mortar 1 either which shows how useless it is. And I even use fast ground targeting, even then it’s crap and never will use in pvp, only spamming mortar 1 above tower walls on enemy zerg below and their rams is the use I’ve seen in wvw or killing enemy npc above tower walls, which is crap since the dmg is bad.

I agree with OP and that the devs should really learn from the necro staff auto.

When balance came up I thought on submiting a ticket to replace my 5x {+5 Vitality 9 Agony Resistence} for 5x {5 Power +9 Agony Resistance} since the cost to make both are the same. But then I was kinda shy.
For me, having +25 power or +25 vitality is not a big deal, but sometimes my OCD ticks and my DPS asks for moar powah =]

my OCD to min max my characters for raids(the only place where maxing dps REALLY matters) is the reason why this problem should be addressed by the devs and fixed in a later update.

Support devs can be really picky sometimes, they don’t always readily give you what you ask for, limits it to 2 infusions which you bought within a month, too many limitations, or they just plain say they can’t do what you ask(still talking about infusion conversion).

So i agree with the OP’s idea to make this changeable through an npc to skip the 3rd man(the dev) and get your infusion right without the hassle and crossing your fingers that the dev gets it right(which they mistake alot, ends up back and forth of messaging in support), and waiting for weeks. i’d gladly pay a small fee for it too, the way armor and weapons can change stats, its just not right how infusions are still backwards.

In simple terms, i bought an infusion with the gold/laurel/badges of my account ~ its my money and i feel i should be able to change it whenever i want.

Probably get a better idea if you asked this in the general forum page. Don’t think that people that mostly PvE only check the PvP forums too often.

i did get 3 good answers from random people, asking in a pvp forum shows gives me an idea that people who consider themselves pve’rs still do check pvp forums and are in the same boat as me in terms of the question, and not just some random new player who has no idea what i am asking for.

So I noticed less people are pvping this season between my Guild, friends list, and followers. So my question is, to you players who consider themselves as mostly PvE’rs, are you playing ranked pvp this season or is it not worth it with the changes to rewards prior to s6. Because I remember s5 to be the most successful in terms of the number of people pvping, compared to the other pvp seasons.

Although this question also applies to wvw raiders, I am mostly concerned with PvE’rs since they get more rewards than the other game modes, and I heard some friends talking in TeamSpeak about this issue.

After a week since patch I’ve noticed a good reception of this trait by the PVE community. I have seen people bring engis specifically on raids because of this buff. I have also seen pugs switch to one engi with a party of full condi meta PUG t4 fractals….basically from what I’ve seen, engis have been positively accepted to the PVE meta since this change thus far. Hi all, so i’ve been doing fractal dailies for months on and off and it occurred to me that when i post lfg for T4’s groups fill fast, but when that’s over and i ask if people want to stay and do daily recommended’s, more often than not everyone just leaves or 1 stays….

So i ask the community who does fractals on the daily, “do you do daily recommended’s? do you think its worth doing or not?”….fyi i don’t need the fractal research pages done with them long time ago, i usually just do daily recommended’s after T4’s since i’m in fotm already anyway but may decide to stop doing the soon when i get busy, thanks.

How do you even get ‘Execute the Executioner’?

I’ve tried this 3 times now and each time I never see the ‘Executioner’ but only ‘Torch Runners’ (which I’ve killed). What gives – someone please clear this up!

The Saidra’s Haven event where the White Mantle attacks Saidra’s Haven has to fail. When it fails, the next phase starts, then you try to liberate the town and you will get it.

For achievements like these, you do not want to zerg it. You want no more than 3 people scaling the event, which is the default scale and makes these achievements trivial. If you want to coordinate a zerg, your best chance would be to have people tag it and leave, one by one.

Unless you can manage to get everyone to cooperate, you’ll basically need a dead map to successfully do Honorary Crew Member. Moonlighting is out of the way, making it far easier to solo while no one is looking.

ArenaNet already knows, so alternatively, simply wait for the nerfs.

i have tried this numerous times with only about 3-5 people who randomly approached the event while doing their dailies/map completion and have never gotten the achievement. I understand that the event scales with the number of people, but even with 5 people i could never finish this. There are too many runners, too little dps, and crowd control.

I agree with the OP that the idea of using a full man squad to approach this is the right way of thinking, but if even a full squad of people wanting to get this achievement done fail not just once but a couple of times fails, then something is wrong with the event itself.

I also heard that anet has adressed that this is a problem, the problem lies in how long before it gets fixed, seeing as the caudecus fight got nerfed pretty quickly. I personally finished the story on day 1 by myself and although it was a bit of a challenge, it only took me 1 try to finish it just because i understood the mechanics(even when i don’t raid).

Stop the bandit spirits from making off with any lumber from the lumber camp.

I know multiple posts here and in reddit have adressed the 2 problems i mentioned above, even Moonlighting took me a few days as that event bugged way too many times as well(and don’t even spawn everytime i have waited for it with a full squad), i got lucky that it spawned one time where not even enough people were on it but the achievement was completed(probably a bug but i will take it nonetheless). In the end i just want to bring this problem up for more people to see as its been 4 days since patch and these achievements have yet to be fixed. As a completionist, I am done doing this events until a fix has been done(wasted hours of my free time), it definitely left a sour taste for me on this patch.

Not to mention a certain number of achievements does not let the player know which mission they are done on(not specified, hence players have to guess and redo missions).

Prevent skritt and White Mantle looters from getting away with any supplies stolen from the SS Pinkeens.

Execute the Executioner
Rescue villagers set by the White Mantle to burn at the stake near Saidra’s Haven.

These 2 achievements were just designed poorly. Honorary Crew Member has 2 parts, 1st against White Mantle(triggered when players defend Saidra’s Haven from the White Mantle attack and 2nd against Skritt (triggered when White Mantle takes over Saidra’s Haven aka players don’t defend), hence Honorary Crew Member is related to the achievement Execute the Executioner in that players have to let the event fail, which has been a bad design since HoT legendaries came out. How this got past them i don’t know, it was bad then, its even worse now since alot more people are affected by it.


Over the past 4 days since the patch was released i have spent a dozens of hours doing events across Lake Doric and have yet to do finish either of this achievements and get my Star(completing all achivements in Story Journal for this episode). Every Saidra’s Haven meta event i have seen which is probably around 15 by now, has always successfully defended it which stops me from getting the achievement, 2 of those 15 tries a good number of people have asked the map to please let Saidra’s Haven event to fail, but always 1 person will troll the map and tag up while others (who don’t read map chat) will follow and defend the event ignoring the pleas of people in map chat. All this does is make map chat toxic and does not go with spirit of GW2.


Since i have never seen the defense of Saidra’s Haven fail personally, though i have heard some lucky people where there map cooperated(i wish i was there), it makes sense that i have never seen the skritt part of Honorary Crew Member. As far as the white mantle part, i have had a couple of decent tries on it(2 for today alone), with 35-50 people in squad, still fail the event due to the unfair spawns, multiple elite supply runners at the same time(seen 2 elite 2 vets spawn at the same time)which take insane amount of dmg and cc to bring down, and the occassional champion elite runner which has so much hp that even when we break his break bar 3 or 4 times over, his HP is still at about 80% by the time he escapes even with dozens of people focusing him.

PvP season queue changes

TL’DR: during PvP season (NO unranked qs) the 2 queues are Solo ranked q and Team ranked q. Off season: the 2 queues are unranked(new pvp maps)and ranked(solo/team mix)

I kinda agree with OP’s idea . I feel that the pvp population got bigger due to changes for season 5, and rewards have gotten better attracting attention to (mostly)PvE and WvW players which is good for the game. New blood keeps the game alive after all.

I also would like to get SoloQ back, alot of top esports games have soloq and there is a reason for that. Yes, having team queue promotes teamwork, but also it allows things like the recent match manipulation by some top tier players which is very sad. Having both a legitimate SoloQ and TeamQ fixes a few holes that has been in place since season 1. Some only play by themselves and always get the short end of the stick by going against premades in teamspeak and such, yet still they continue to play for the love of the game. Others got smacked in the face with the announcement of no team queue for season 5(only Solo/DuoQ).

DuoQ still gives an edge over SoloQ players and I have seen it countless times with 1 or 2 DuoQ’s in easily makes the match lopsided with their rotation. Their is also the match manipulation thread…which i dont want to go any further.

Their will always be exploits that people will use to get an edge over others, and i am happy that Anet addressed it and will keep doing so for the betterment of the game. But i also hope they bring back SoloQ and TeamQ as separate queues for season 6. Removing unranked during the season makes sense to me as well as it should increase the pool of players queue-ing for ranked matches(win or lose. It’s really annoying when you get the same people 3 games in a row-only shows that there are not enough people playing)

After the season is over it is always nice to wind down and enjoy a new PvP map in unranked and relax, as well as keeping a separate ranked queue for the people who want to keep practicing and stay in the competitive scene. It just works out for the majority i’d think but what do i know, lol.

the whole point of it, is to make the open world more immersive. It’s not there to be cool or anything, its there because it only makes sense that they are moving and not idle. I love playing rpg’s and get my fix for immersive open world experience like witcher, halo, dragon age, mass effect and so forth, i’m sure its not alot to ask to have that small change in my favorite mmo.

Yes it may take some of devs time, but once a change has occured it will be the new normal and won’t take anymore time than it should for future content. It may be a small change, but theses little details do make a lot of people happy, as other changes on Quality of Life updates have done so when the devs make changes.

I really just want an answer from a Dev if such a thing is possible for our game, and if they ever considered it.

That would also go along with unlocking the airship in the lost precipice guild hall but not being able to use it. Would be nice if when you do guild missions we have the option to load up on it and fly to the spot and get dropped off.

speaking of riding airships and dropping off….it would be fun if airships can drop off people in WvW keeps. obviously it won’t be spammable and would cost a humongous amount of supply, but it would be a fun change for zerg battles. Like instead of people spamming a waypoint to get back and defend a keep, players will be parachuted down/fall down slowly (not gliding). For offensive purposes your zerg would be dropped off inside the enemy keep which basically bypasses the outer gate, but not more than that. Idk it just looks fun.

yeh it was sad, i was so excited when i saw those baloons in crown pavilion during the 1st bday of the game, but when i rode it and it was just a waypoint, i was so sad….i also remember the catapult in Diessa Plateau in order to get a certain skill point on top of a tall tower also worked the same way, would have been nice to be thrown into the air much like the new mastery in Ember Bay but it just loads you to the tower and you get knockdown’d.

i think this is unfair, even in wow if you dont have some expac, you still can do raids…

so my question is : will be raids for people who buy only the core game? because i dont want to buy HOT at this price….

are u a free 2 play player? You spend $50 once every 2-3 years, no monthly subscription fees, and your angry that you can’t do raids because….let me guess, you want to start working on the legendary armor….if you love this game enough, you would support them by buying the expansion, which occassionally is on discounted price.

This isn’t WoW, GW2 core game DID NOT have RAIDS, the HoT expansion DID. The expansion may not have been worth the $50 when it came out, but its definitely worth the price with all the content that has been released a year after….the only thing unfair here is you complaining about not buying HoT when you have played WoW which has monthly subscriptions..

So the game has been out for 4 years. We have boats and airships in the game and in the lore…..but most of them are NOT MOVING at all.

On some occasion we see them moving, like airships bombing enemies in The Silverwastes, or dropping supply in WvW (from Eotm), or cutscenes like in LS3 en route to Bloodstone Fen, and the trailer for Rising Flames patch where we see a boat moving, but nowhere to be found in-game. And the only legit moving ride-able airship i know is from the Zhaitan fight – personal story, let me know if i missed something.

I remember playing WoW back in the ol’days(wotlk), and even back then that game had flying airships that circle around the map….which leads me to the airship in Gendaran Fields, which never moves…..dmn. I also remember GW1 had the same problems and had no moving boats, except for cutscenes, which were pretty bad imo.

So, long story short, is it a techonological limitation that the game we love has no moving boats and airships in-game that we can ride and relax on? Its bad enough we don’t have horses in Tyria(and i don’t even care about mounts), then we get to Ember Bay through an Asura Gate and not through the boat that was showin in the trailer(Its kinda funny how we go all around the ring of fire and the 1st map we land on is the farthest one).

TL’DR: why don’t we have moving Boats and Airships that we can ride in the open world.
