Here’s a soldier class from DAOC that might fit in to what people are looking for in GW. They could use mid-range whip weapons, and sword and board. Maybe long-range staff instead of scepter, since guard is mid-range staff and long scepter. and scythe for 2h dps. It also allows scythes to be introduced for a certain other class.
Most of their close range util skills are pulsing insta pbaoe boon strips, chills, cripples and the like.
I think it could fit in nicely with Grenth inspired skills. Thoughts?
Here’s the description from DAOC zam.
“Reavers are hybrid Necromancer/Fighters with chain armor and a variety of Albion weapon skills. They are the fighting class that protects Arawn, lord of the underworld. Reavers are hybrid caster/tanks, related in spirit more to the Thane and Champion than the Paladin they have some debuffs, like the Champion, and some direct damage/lifetap, like the Thane. They also can specialize in a variety of melee skills including all the 1 handed weapon specs, shields, and parry. Their spells are a variety of debuffs and lifedrains which are intended to augment their damage in combat. "
I am standing here at the zone into Straits of Devastation comming from Mount Maelstrom and I notice about a dozen people appearing and reappearing. After less than a minute I notice it’s the same people, over and over. I know alot of people are becoming aware of these warping bots, and just for the sake of catching some easily, all you need to do is sit at the zone in apparently, as you’ll see them with clever names such as Klgsad or Nvbdfv or Sdfgsdfe. These are only a few that I captured on Ehmry Bay within seconds of zoning in and hitting print screen a few times.
Honestly I am considering running FRAPS while I go to lunch every day and just posting this huge pimple of a problem on youtube weekly. I could probably make a channel out of it, it’s such a plague.
These bots ruin the player driven market, they exploit the Black Lion Market by driving gem = gold prices up and down, and they pretty much run for self profit sites like IGXE and its sister sites, by selling in game gold at a rate twice as cheap as the in game Gem to Gold / Gold to Gem system.
I’m simply posting this here out of disgust. As a long time Guild Wars player I can tell you this has been an unsolved and ongoing problem that has carried over to Guild Wars 2.
Hopefully people take note of these hot spots for catching exploiters, and send in a few screenshots. Anyone on ANETs side can literally just stand in the spot i described above and catch them all day.
