I’ll still play GW2 without purchasing HoT. I did the same thing with GW1, and didn’t purchase any expansions until a few months after Nightfall was released. I mainly pvp, but if it gets to the point where I need HoT to be more effective in pvp, then I’ll purchase the expansion. That’s pretty much the same reason on why I bought the GW1 expansions back in the day.

Yes, I’m buying it. I’ll still buy it even if the expansion gets terrible reviews. I have a job, money, and I love GW.

This thread is just becoming pointless at this point, so I suggest that all of you just resist the urge to keep it alive because the necromancer community just can’t be satisfied.

Yes I know that I’m supposed to show that they are op, that’s what the whole leaderboard thing was about. At the start of the thread, people were telling me that I’m saying necromancer are op, yet I’m not even in the top 100 on the leaderboards. I see that they are right about that, so I say that I will reach the top 100 in solo, team, and WvW to show it. In attempting to reach that goal, all the battles I do can at least provide a reasonable assessment on whether I still think they are op. Now, people are telling me that reaching the top in the leaderboards doesn’t mean anything. Once again people are right about that as well because what it will really show is if I’m a skilled necromancer player, rather than if necromancers are op. The only way to go around this is if many other necro players do the same thing and give their assessment. The problem is that the community just can’t be satisfied. They wanted to see me in the leaderboards, so I say fine I’ll do it. They tell me leaderboards mean nothing, so the only alternative I see now would be to just go up against the best pvp teams.

Telling someone to eat a snickers was my retaliation to Googlebrandon insulting me. Besides, it is just another way for me to tell someone to calm down. I never stated that “I have a degree, so I know what I’m talking about.” I mentioned that to show GoogleBrandon why I’m not going back on my word until more people show me that necromancers are not as op as I think. Read that post again and probably the true meaning behind it will become more clear to you. Roe does know that most of you are right, that’s why I said that he disagrees with me.

Hope this will be the final post. Yes Roe you are correct. Even if I make it high on the leaderboards playing only as a necro, other players will have to do the same thing and give their assessment on it. Hell tbh, all that it will really show is that I’m a skilled player. One final thing, I think everyone could learn something from Roe ( I’m looking at you GoogleBrandon). He/she disagreed with what I was saying, yet had useful stuff to say and avoided any needless name calling; that’s how you properly argue, and I am more willing to listen to him/her because of that. Something I forgot to mention, the only reason I haven’t backed down is that out of all the replies I read, nobody even bothered to give the build a try (I think it was only just one other person).

The tests were making it high on the leaderboards for solo arena, team arena, and WvW. Did you even bother reading the posts? Why are people still posting on here? I honestly thought GoogleBrandon’s rant was going to be the final post, so I didn’t give him a reply. To anyone who is looking at this topic: Please read all the posts before posting a reply. Yesterday, I already decided that the only way to convince people was to show them by rising up the ladder. This topic should have died once that was stated.

lol I’ll do it eventually…could be later today even. I’m taking a break from the pvp at the moment; it sure is exhausting. This is my first time actually being involved with the GW2 community on the forums, and it’s shocking at how many insults people throw at each other, and how people are easily angered over this. Lol, but I was the same way when I was a teen gamer. Oh, and just let this topic die now. Like I said, I’m working on getting up the ladder. I will post again once I’m up there.

You are correct Roe, that’s why I’m trying to get up the solo ladder. I will do team arena later, although it is tempting to do it now because my stats on there are pretty much clean. As for my win/loss in solo arena, this is due to jumping straight into ranked matches; I think I have only played three hotjoin games. I have been playing ranked for testing builds, trying classes, etc. Sadly, this makes the process of rising up the ladder more difficult. A great thing that I have learned so far is that since this build is powerful, at least in the ranking I’m at, it’s easy to coordinate with my team members on where I want them to go since I am fully aware of my capabilities. Something I can say so far is that playing necromancer is an easy way to get you out of the percentile system and into the actual leaderboards.

Currently raised my solo arena ranking to the 89th percentile, starting from 84th percentile when I created this topic. Win rate is now 50.78%, and the increases have been from playing necromancer. Sorry GoogleBrandon, but I’m not going back on my word. A little background info on me is that I got my B.S. in the natural sciences, so I am not going to back down on my idea until I am shown otherwise; furthermore, just because there are necromancers with more “experience” means nothing to me. So far, playing this necromancer build is causing me to rise up the rankings, so I will stick with my assumption that necromancers are op.

Why are you still posting? I have already stated that I am now only going to play necro in solo arena and try to reach a high ranking in the leaderboards to prove my point. In fact, I just brought myself up to the 85 percentile from 84 and my win rate to 50 from 48, and I’m hoping it will gradually increase. Good afternoon sir.

According to the pie chart, the class I play most is engineer, and I also play mesmer cause I’m trying to figure that class out. Like I said, it’s boring playing some op class all the time. Challenge accepted though, starting now I will only play my necro and make it high on the leaderboards to prove my point. I also want to say that if there is no condi removal then you can always add the skill for it. It’s not like the skills listed are set in stone, you are encouraged to play around with it. Just make sure that you have at least 2 wells. I have tried the build using only 2 wells, and it is still tanky and hits like a truck. The only thing you shouldn’t change are the traits; however, the first two soul reaping and first blood magic traits can be changed. Also, the soul reaping line can be replaced with power, but I do not recommend this.

Whoa there Googlebrandon, I think you need to eat a snickers. As for Flow, I just searched up my account and I am on the leaderboards, so maybe you put in a typo? I think the confusion on the build comes from people thinking it’s the wells that do the damage; rather, the wells are just there for survival, and the effects of them are just a bonus. You basically just juggle between going in and out of death shroud, and when you are out of death shroud you are extremely tanky and still do good damage. Your life force will recharge quickly, so then it’s back to death shroud. Death shroud damage is insane, and don’t even get me started on how ridiculous lich form is. In conclusion, your just a tank with good damage. Boring to play, so I mainly play engineer, but really powerful. 2vs1 is easy. 1vs1 is even easier, but a good thief can be annoying. Still, everyone could be right and necromancers or this build is garbage, and people in solo arena just plain suck. Also, the 3rd utility slot is optional btw, locust doesn’t need to be there.

Necromancers really are overpowered guys, and that build is the proof. If you all just want to sit around and trash talk then that is still fine by me. I just thought I should bring this to the attention of the community for all the crap that people give me for playing an overpowered class. Guess I’ll just keep stomping on people if this won’t get nerfed. FYI not sure what hotjoin is but the only pvp I do is solo queue. I’ll see how necros are like in wvw and team queue later.

After playing necromancer for about a month in pvp and running this build, I am convinced that necromancers, or at least this build, are/is overpowered. Nerf….maybe
