@Vayne
Wow, I didn’t see that response coming. And btw, not sure if you know this or not, but what you say is just your opinion. And for the record I was speaking for myself and responding to his post about people not supporting anet because they were too cheap and then his statement about who will ultimately lose from this lack of said support.
However we can deduce from this farming is actually a viable way to get gems. If that’s the case, obviously there’s no problem farming gold.
And yes, rising rates just means people are too cheap to support the game. Imho, they’re indeed the ones who get the short end of the stick. In the end, this game requires money too, just like every other MMO.
Going to have to disagree with you there.
Too cheap, yeah probably some yes, but not all.
I really enjoyed this game for the first three months of release, and after six months of playing I would have gladly pumped another $50 of real money into their gem store just to support the company for providing me with an enjoyable product.
All anet needed to do was to continue to supply me with the game I purchased, they decided it was a better idea to change the game (for the worse imo). I believe most of the decisions they make are to increase gem store sales rather than making customers happy.
You claim the players are the ones who lose out on this, and yes they do, they lose out on entertainment. But the people at anet are the ones trying to make a living off of this game, so if I had to choose between losing some form of entertainment or losing my job, I would pick the entertainment.
I think the mindset of a lot of larger companies these days is what can I do to make the most profits (cut costs, raise prices, fire non-essential workers, etc) rather than focusing on what makes their customers happy. Happy customers actually leads to bigger profits.
So am I too cheap to support anet, not at all. I could have easily given them another $100 of my money if they had continued to deliver the product they sold me. But someone at anet thought that was a horrible idea. So am I a happy customer? NO. Do they appear to be doing anything to fix that? NO. So do you think I feel like supporting a company that doesn’t care what I think? NO. The way I feel now I just want to log as many hours as possible into this game and never pay them another cent. How profitable is that going to be for anet? I hope that’s what they were hoping for when they took this game in such a horrible direction.
I did the tequatl event as well with a guild mate and didn’t get the chest either. I had to ask him where the chest spawned and it wasn’t there…
or at least that’s how I “perceived” it.
I have seen that thread.
And I understand that there are many variables to drops.
But lets face it…the lack of drops from champions is so well documented….why the delay for a fix?
I will say I still like this game, but there some obvious things they can/should be fixed but for some reason they ignore or just take their sweet time to do it.
I’m no IT person, but I would thing changing the peramenters for Champion drops would be a 10 minute fix….then agian…maybe I’m wrong and its a huge task…………
You know Tom, maybe that isn’t a bad idea, maybe they should let the IT team try to fix it. They couldn’t possibly take any longer than letting the dev team do it.
How bout best game late August through mid November, that seems very accurate to me. If this was pre lost shores I would have already voted for this game but after the bait and switch anet pulled not a chance.
I mean whats the point of having group events that last more then 10 minutes and than drop blues and greens. These events did well when the game first came out because no one knew what a waste of time they were yet, but now everyone knows not to bother because there is no point. Champions do not drop good loot now contrary to what anet says.
I really feel sorry for the dev team that worked on open world events because anet seems to have tied their hands and I’m sure a lot of work went into all of that stuff.
I also haven’t found more than 1 green item after hours of open world exploring and my motivation for playing this game is almost gone. I don’t say this to be mean because up to this point I was really enjoying the over 600 hours I had put into this game. The “sell junk” button seems to make me more money than anything else I find for my time spent playing these days.
I mainly do open world because I am not often able to block off a large section of time where I can focus on a dungeon(2 small kids). So open world really works well for me, but not so much lately. I stopped playing diablo 3 because it was horribly unrewarding and monotonous. I was really happy at first when gw2 seemed so much different than d3. But these days I’d swear anet hired jay wilson or something because this game is as unrewarding to me as any I have ever played in 30 years. At least d3 tried to trick me into to thinking I would get something good by dropping tons of worthless rares, but with gw2 it’s like I’m lucky if I get a porous bone or a chunk of crab meat. Hey everyone have you heard about the new gw2 game??? It’s got crab meat! I can see them running to the stores now.
I talked to support and they explained to me how support doesn’t write the code and that I should express my feedback in the forums and thats the best way to be heard. And I told them I don’t want the form letter response which they replied
“Again I get that it can be less than ideal to simply post feedback on the forums without getting much in the way of a response from the developers. Unfortunately this is really the only way they take any kind of feedback right now, so it’s pretty much the best and only option for getting your feedback heard. That said not every suggestion will be implemented, it’s really up to them on what they choose to do and not do. However if if they do decide to change something it often can take quite a long time to implement as they have a lot of other stuff to work on ahead of anything new coming in.”
Between that response and the complete silence here from anet I don’t hold out much hope for this game. I think that if you can’t offer monthly content without altering the normal content of the game than you should stop offering monthly content. But if all this is intentional on your part than I feel truly sorry for you.
Man up and give the people who are responsible for you still having jobs a response.
