Guild Wars 2

As always there’s very little information on the size of released patches, which people need if they have broadband limits, a short schedule etc, etc. Can anyone provide some information on the size (in MB/GB) of the April 30th patch?

Hi, I have a terrible internet connection, so always end up having to plan in advance when I’m going to download large files. Since the GW2 client provides next to no information on download size (which is ridiculous in my opinion) I would appreciate it if someone could give me an estimate on the size of the download for the patch released on the 28th of Jan, in MB or GB.

Hi guys,
I’m looking for a Guild on desolation. I would like it to be large, and at least slightly friendly! I’m interested in WvW, PvE, Dungeons, PvP and pretty much every single game mode. As it stands I’m level 52, but I have a lot more time now, compared to when this game first came out, so I’m hoping to get into it fully. I’ve got a load of experience in other MMOs, clocking 1000 hours in 2 or 3, so I’m not a newbie to MMOs. Obviously however, I won’t have experienced everything in this game though.

Thunderstorm, that’s because we have different issues.

Mistbooster, have you actually checked? I haven’t backed up my PC in about 2 months and it had a version from last week, add to the fact that I’m nearly out of space on my hard drive. If you haven’t actually checked, it might be worth a shot.

Well it worked for me!

Well I found a fix to all those having this problem. In windows 7, right click on the DAT file and click properties, from there, press previous versions. Copy over the most recent version, mine was only a week old. Do the same for the client and run the game. Download the patches from the last week and you’re ready to go.

Hope this helps anyone who has this, quite frankly rediculous, problem. Oh, and this time make sure you don’t get a power cut

There was a powercut whilst updating Guild Wars and after the “Repairing Archive Data…” window just stopped progressing (left it for a couple of hours) and I closed it, the game wants to redownload from scratch. Is this a joke? No way am I downloading the whole game again on 100kBps, that will take days. I tried changing the extension to -repair, but after verifying for a little while it goes back to downloading from scratch. What can I do to not redownload the whole game? Surely one little corruption can be repaired.
