KISS leaving Gunnars Hold

I am just a Kiss member, had no knowledge of the move until it happened and in no way speak for the guild.

I was sorry to leave GH, whether i stay with kiss on there new server remains to be seen, but i now know returning to GH while Anet let numbers dictate how much fun you have in WvW will not be an option.

I envy the servers that have fun match up every week, the last 10 weeks I maybe had 2 weeks of fun fights, BUT you are only getting that fun @ Prime time.

I can’t always play @ prime time and WvWing most other times on GH = outnumbered, sometimes the the point you do not have the ability to do anything apart from be fodder for someones Zerg.

Love Anet to explaine how this is meant to be fun for everyone, oh and lets not forget the All our time is equal comment. if 20 v 80 equal maybe some Anet developrs ned to try wvw on a small pop server

Dungeons are not fun.

Hate the dungeons in his game, seems dodging on our part and high HP of bosses makes up for actually needing tactics to defeat most of the bosses.

Add the fact of how much time you can spend in one against the rewards you are going to get and it becomes a case of whats the point.

Add legendry’s to dungeons drop list on small %. maybe i just unlucky but i can farm mobs and craft an exotic easier then wasting 100 hours tying to get one from a drop

Add some crafting recipes, make the drops dungeon only and give them an unusual skin

Trash mobs need to be just that, things a normal group can kill without having to get downed several times

WvW Twice a Day Event

Before they added ANYTHING like events they would have to balance the servers first, otherwise it would turn into something else to complain about, would totally suck if you were on a low populated world, drawn against a high pop a couple of weeks running.

Also please no PvE type events, these events should be PvP type events, made to encourage sides to slaughter each other.

Maybe change SM slightly so it occasionally reverts back to an npc controlled castle and all 3 sides would get a message something like “Your Leaders orders you to take SM castle, dont fai us”. That way hopefully a 3 way fight occurs and 3 wa fights are fun :]

Also having events that are triggered by enemy kills, that when triggered reward the side with exp, karma, cash, etc but stay away from stat based rewards, rewarding the side with more numbers happens enough and we should (well anet should) be looking for ways to entice people to spread back out amongst the lower pop servers.

WvW Turtling - Intended or Not?

Firstly never read every post, so if i cover something that’s already been discussed to death i apologist.

I been gaming a long time, mostly for the pvp. I thought WvW was a joke and could never get any worse (balance wise, i have/do have a little fun there @times) and this week i discovered “The Turtle”

Start of the week it was used successfully against us, within 2 days we had adopted this “Tactic” and are now using it as a standard ,if Anet thinks this is a valid tactic and how they seen people enjoying there game then please post, I doubt anyone who imagines what a game pvp’s would be like had a vision of this.

This game so favours the numbers having a ranking system is most cases = a population count, and the Turtle is just the next step in the “The more people you have the easier you will win”

People are posting that siege’s are the answer. maybe if the populations were balanced that would be the case, but having the experience of being on and fighting against a low pop server its not everyone that can get 10 arrow carts up fast enough and believe me, if we have decent sized turtle and people are listening 10 carts wont be enough.

Increase the aoe cap on players, put an aeo cap on sieges WHY

1. arrow carts should only be able to hold so may arrows
2. Bali = one arrow splintering, not guaranteed a maximum number every chance

Yes the map has choke points, but shouldn’t ambushing be a much more valid tactic than turtling, there is also a number of ways that you can move about a map, your only forced to go one way in forts/keeps

Keep choke points -Shouldn’t some keeps be scarey to take, maybe its just me but having “ninja’d” my fair share of keeps with small groups i personally think sieging in a lot of cases is too easy, yeah i have had tough fights but in a lot of them cases that was down to being outnumbered

Increasing the Aoe limit also throws a bone to the under populated servers, 5 people should be able to put up a decent defence against 20 in sieges, the present system means these 20 people can all target me standing on a high wall while i can only hit five of them and even if i did down one, the 15 free people i can;t target have him on his feet in 2 secs – OUTSTANDING.

My WvW time will be a lot less while we turtling, we use it,its effective but it bores me, if anet don’t balance WvW soon i be joining the growing list of my old guild thats went back to WoW, we might have to pay for our pvp, but 10v10 a lot fairer than 30 v 100 and we can vote out our bots.

Just like to say thanks to Piken and AB for some awesome fun fights this week, Had awesome fun, always great to know that when our zerg meets piken zerg there is gonna be a field of dead bodies and you aint sure if they going to be yours or the enemys :]

Portal Bombing

If they could fix the rendering then,

The logical counter to portaling is AoE, all net have to do is remove the silly restriction of 5 targets,its that or make portals only able to portal people the mesner are partied with (5 max)

That 5 target restriction yet again favours the side with larger number,i honestly think removing it would help balence a few other areas as well as giving the people using the portal the same risk as there intended victims.

I play a mesner, and while i agree that portaling should stay an be a valid tactic, i dont agree with the heavy usage its getting due to rendering giving the using group 2-5 secs of free dps

I never played GW1, and gw2 pvp so far is totally disappointing

There no true balance to any the pvp, Downed state and thieves makes spvp ( i know they working on thieves, but hey they working on a lot of things) rather laughable

WvW pvp so favors the numbers that there is no skill required, half the player base only knows the Zerg, mis that with the mmount of hacking / cheating etc that goes on and this more like a game from 15 years ago than anything i would expect nowadays

I soo hoped for more and believe that a decent modern game should cater for all types, have a few raids, have a few different “balanced” pvp areas ( to Devs, balanced is not 20 v 100)

Downed state has no real purpose apart from making things easier for the side with the bigger numbers to keep there numbers large.

Its totally frustrating while defending, you can take down 2 or 3 of the enemy attacking your fort just to watch a pile of the attackers res there dead and cancel out your effort.

It may sound harsh to some but killing people should send them straight back to there starting way point, my reasons for stating this are

1. Players will have to actually learn to use there skills rather than depending on there numbers, commanders and players will actually have to decide if a tower/keep is worth the man power cost rather than just the supply cost it is now.

2. Traveling into enemy lands would have a price in manpower, meaning lower populated worlds could actually make last stands that worked rather than just holding off the zerg waiting on the put come you know is happening

3 Siege weapons become scarier – it can be pretty much a joke building sieges to assault / defend somewhere to watch 50+ players just zerg it, res there dead and carry on

I know some sieges would need balancing and i know WvW would need balencing n other ways but i do think its a step in the right direction. This system (like many in place) rewards the side with bigger numbers and thats killing off WvW in a lot ofthe lower populated worlds, which is making the situation worse

@ KnightFire.2597 sorry i disagree, “Really skilled players” or people who actually think while they are PvPing would learn to stay alive. learn to pick there fights using terrain (for sieges) or traps / ambushes etc etc

The system in place at present totally is about the numbers in your zerg in most cases, dealing or adapting to that – bring more people or if vastly outnumbered log off and play something balanced.

Free transfer - WvW

WvW is the biggest let down i had from gaming in a long time

Don’t expect any major changes that actually make it fair and fun any time soon, the free transfer to play with friends is a shocking excuse.

In these days of social networking and instant communication anyone that played on a different server from a true friend for anything more than a day is am insult to the gene pool.

Night Capping and YOU

First excuse me if other devs have commented after Matt, did not feel much like reading all 23 pages.

I would love an explanation about how my time is as valued as people playing @ night though, last 3 weeks i have logged on to a 500+ point difference between the server that has a presence when we are asleep and the server that’s capped and fortified everything with no resistance.

I bought this game solely for WvW, thinking that the amount of time they had spent making it that they might have made a semi decent job, how i wish now i could get a refund.

While i agree that the game is meant to be fun for everyone, its hardly fun now, all that’s happening is people are changing servers making the situation worse.

There are some good suggestions in this thread and while i am old enough to know the situation will never be perfect it can at least be better than the current system

Before GW2 i spent years paying a monthly fee for my pvp, while u still had badly matched games there the bonus was they didn’t last a week (well 3 weeks). Downed state totally spoils spvp for me ( how imbalanced are some states compared to others) and now there is no point playing wvw when its so poorly designed that 20 people get a free ride for 6+ hours getting easy exp, karma, gold

Oh and to the IDIOTS that are comparing a war to a gameGreat work , when you launch an offensive in war even against a sleeping enemy, you find they dont stay asleep for 8 – 12 hours

Looks like i am going to be “forced” to jump on the server jumping bandwagon due to the company’s lack of being able to rectify a situation that there server transfers have caused.

Really hoped they had did some market research before they designed a wvw but it seems like they just let the office junior knock something up in his lunch break and are now too busy spending there profits to even bother trying to get a fairer solution
