What is the Phoenix Coalion?

Phoenix is a group that began with the righteous fury of it’s leader, Sefah Hyle, a former Warmaster of the Vigil who had grown tired of seeing people battered, broken, and left unable to make a living for themselves. She wanted to see to it that anyone of good intent who crossed the threshold of her lodge would become stronger after leaving it. She wanted to ensure that anyone who could not hunt for their own food and earn their own coin would have the tools and skills to do just that, Tyria’s foes be kitten ed!

She gathered a small crew of like minded individuals, mostly Norn at first, who joined her in avenging the wrongs done to the weak of Tyria. But unlike a simple crusader who smashes evil and moves on to the next foe, she would have Phoenix teach and train so that others would not need them. In an ideal world of Sefah’s vision, Phoenix would only have to pass the torch to the next generation who would outdo their own prodigious legend. Just as any Norn would like.

But Tyria is a large world and our own group has grown stronger. The calls for help come to our door more often, the requests for education and guidance more desperate and often. We now recruit so that we can spread the Phoenix Fire all across Tyria so that no bit of broken ash remains so and is forged into the legends that is our right.

Phoenix has taken on many allies and when the need arises, we loan ourselves to the cause.

What To Expect

*Character driven RP – We want to help you tell your stories. Bring us your villains and challenges so that we can help you overcome them.
*RP-PvE – We are working on progression, getting through the dungeons, and tie them in to the character driven stories. Perhaps that Charr that stole your device ran off to the Flame Legion for sanctuary. Let’s bust in and get it back.
*Norn-Styled Events – The guild’s theme, especially as it’s run by norn, is about becoming a stronger individual. Though some of our member backgrounds come from more orderly structure like the Charr Legions or the Human militias, we want to celebrate your individual excellencies with our Moots, Hunts, and Challenges.
*We’re a laid back community, eager to help you with dyes, crafts, or muscle for those harder quests

What Phoenix is looking for:

*You do not have to be Norn, but you have to be willing to accept Norn RP; spirits, hunting, moots.
*We want roleplayers who enjoy PvE and who are willing and eager to assist others with stories/adventure.
*We want adventurers who are willing to struggle with us as we put down every threat Tyria’s underbelly has to offer and can brag about it when we get back to the lodge.
*All races, character levels and skill sets. New to GW2? We will train. Been a while and need a refresher? We’re here to help.
*Anyone that wants to have fun with a little flare.

Do not apply if

*Your goal allows for the breaking of Tyria’s spirit. The ends do not justify the means.
*You are too frightened to forge your own legend. We can mold you, but we need sterner stuff.
*You are not willing to give as much as you get. Both to our foes and to the people we save.

From ashes we will rise again and take back a world that belongs to us. Dragon’s be kitten We are fighters, builders and survivors but we are not victims. And we will rebuild better than it was before.

We are the Phoenix Coalition. I’d like to tell you it was a simple as that or that we weren’t needed but the fact remains this world is under attack. Each of us has made a claim to help take it back in some way. No matter how small. We lend ourselves to those who need us and we will retake what is rightfully ours. Whether it be protecting those who cannot protect themselves or rebuilding what was destroyed, we will be there to show the enemies of Tyria they will not win.

Along our journey friends have found their way to us. We welcome them to the warmth of our hearth and the chill of our ale. Together we stand for one another and find a place to belong.

Who are these crazy people? (the ooc of it):

When Phoenix Coalition was first started up we were the refugees from other games who just wanted a place in Tyria to be comfortable and familiar in a new world we knew nothing about. We all searched for a home to call our own and didn’t find any that suited us. Thus we decided to make our own and Phoenix Coalition was created. Since then we have helped each other learn and grow. Mechanic, lore and rp wise. We’re happy to help new players, answer questions and go on adventures. We were all new once.

Every other Wednesday evening, schedules permitting, we have spacial RP at a random location. A member of the guild is chosen each time to pick a specific location and lead their guild mates there for a get together. This gives us all a chance to get to know each other a little bit better in-character and a break from the adventuring.
When we find time we like to schedule a dungeon crawl or even throw one together on the fly. Where we end up generally depends on who needs what and the lowest level of those volunteering to go. We do this as often as possible but our main focus is still on the RP.

It was a group decision to branch out and invite others in. While we have a leader and second in command the guild as a whole is consulted before any major decisions are made. It’s a place where everyone’s voice can be heard.

Guidelines and application information:

We ask that you are over 18 years of age and have the maturity to go with it. We do deal with adult themes and language. We don’t want to have to worry that we are corrupting some young mind since let’s face it, we’re already corrupted!
No OOC drama. IC it’s a plotline but OOC it’s a reason to get yourself tossed out on your rump. Those creating it will be taken behind the guild lodge, beaten without mercy and your cookies taken away.

Respect. We demand this. For yourself and others.

We are a neutral/good aligned guild. I know GW2 doesn’t really have alignments but if your character’s sole purpose in life is to help the dragons and slaughter everyone, we’re not for you. We run in more of a gray area. We may do a few bad things but they are done for the right reasons.

Some of our character concepts may be a little different. But, we enjoy them and that’s all that matters. We’re not totally off the wall but we have been known to bend a little. As long as it doesn’t leave everyone in the guild rolling their eyes, it’s all good.
We are an RP guild first. While we enjoy our adventuring and dungeon crawls, RP will always come first for us. We’ve even been known to do minor RP during a run on occasion.
