whats also funny is that there is lots of overflows at this time of the day. at least in EU servers.

I’ve never not been able to find an overflow. It’s just been today.. not sure what’s up.

I recently put up a LFG for fotm 16 requiring JQ server or an overflow; I’ve never seen this much lack of overflow. Maybe guesting will finally be put in? (Sure..)

I’m not sure.. my group just split now and wasted about an hour of time. So frustrating..

I have a full group for fotm 16 fractals.. and none of us have an overflow to join. We’re currently not able to do it and have been sitting here for over 15 minutes waiting for an overflow or a person kind enough to get us in one. Anyone here able to help me out, please?

I use a 0/0/30/30/10 flexible build. I used to use hammer most of the time with the old dungeons, but now a day, I found that you have to switch them around even if it’s your “main weapon”. In my opinion, I think this build is the best for Fractal since it’s a combination of Altruistic Healing/Monk’s Focus from Valor, all the great traits to switch around in Honor (Empowering Might, Pure of Voice, Two-Handed Mastery, etc…), and Master of Consecration/Improved Spirit Weapon Duration from Virtue. To make up for the damage lost from trait, I usually run full Berserkers on trash and most boss fights.

To get the best out of the hammer, you have to make use of the two animation skips mentioned in Brutaly’s guide especially the Ninja Skip (don’t even need to cancel the dodge, just utilizing it to resume the 3rd swing).

You run full Berserkers? What about runes? At what level fractal? I just feel like the end fight in fractals like Cliffside I’d just… die.

That’s the problem I always run into with hammer. I just wish we had a better ranged weapon. Sometimes I tire of being stuck with scepter/staff.. sigh..

Do you guys think a SoA/WoR focused build, with traits focused on reduced spirit wep cd/duration and master of consecrations (reduce cd/duration) would be best for fractals 30+ ? I find that I am bringing those two skills a majority of the boss fights and they help players that don’t have high enough Agony Res for the higher levels(including myself).

I ran the AH/Shout build for fractals up to where i am at now (32), but I am finding myself less able to be in melee for a majority of the uptime if focused hence reducing my overall group contribution. Also there is less overall benefit due to the groups i find in the 30s being more range heavy (even wars/guards) so i feel like the symbol is being wasted =(

Out of curiosity what kind of gear/weapons did you run?

Also, Trungalung, are you just standard AH or are you also Symbol Healing? I myself (as I said earlier) have both forms of healing, 500+ healing, and around 16.4k hp with Clerics armor. Dps feels a bit on the low side sometimes, but I think it’s just getting used to mace again.

Thanks for the tips so far. I recently went AH with around 400 healing (could be more, but I was just testing the waters) with symbol healing. Overall I could live a lot longer despite the lower HP, but then.. I did the Titan fractal. Everything was smooth sailing until the very top when all of the adds spawn along with the boss. I, for the life of me, couldn’t stay alive. They basically spam poison and I couldn’t cure fast enough or heal through it, and the bosses agony was never a problem. It’s just… all those adds.

Agony wasn’t the problem here.. I’d just exhaust all available heals/dodges and still be screwed; not by the boss but by everything else. The boss was easy to not get downed by, but those kitten adds… ARGH! Am I… am I.. just bad? For the record I ran mace/focus + staff.

-edit- We eventually just pulled the boss off to the right room to avoid the adds, and that worked fine, but if you have tons of aggro in that room I just don’t see how it’s possible to live even with wall of reflection or shield of protection.

Currently I’m only level 15, but even then I sometimes feel too squishy or that I don’t help out my group enough. I don’t run Altruistic Healing or any Symbol Healing so that might be a problem, but I support through Pure of Voice – Basically 0/10/10/30/20 with shouts. I understand it’s important to switch traits around based on the situation in the fractal, but still. Any build advice? Standard AH with some 2h+staff?

I run full Soldiers Gear (vit/tough/power) and it feels okay to me; I don’t mind changing. I just, overall, don’t feel like an invincible god like some players make guardians out to be. Agony still destroys me (no resist), but for the most part I don’t really get downed (not killed) unless it’s during that stupid dredge fractal.

Also, I find melee (at least most against bosses), almost worthless as they hit incredibly hard or have anti melee abilities. I run scepter/shield now and switch my other weapon based on the situation. What do you higher level fractal guardians run?

Any advice is greatly appreciated as I’ve taken a break for a while and just want to come back helping my group (and.. myself) as much as possible in these dungeons. Thanks in advance! I’ll check back soon.

I’m curious if [FIRE] or [ESOL] also do Dungeons, or are these two dungeons purely WVW?

I’ve been in a lot of casual guilds from time to time. I enjoy the people and still have fun, but I want to be part of a larger guild that actively tries to get better/do dungeons. What sparked this was Fractals of the Mists. I would really enjoy being part of a guild that’s working hard to progress in FotM.

If it means anything I’m a full exotic (vit/tough/pwr) level 80 Guardian and been through – I’ve played almost every MMO out there with top end guilds, been officers in a few guilds, and led a guild myself that grinded out rank 13s/14s in WoW.

I just want a guild that wants to be good in WvW/Fractals and future dungeons and has some interest in organised teams in WvW (maybe a guild that has a commander or two? Who knows!)

I want the original size too, but I’m thinking it may be a bug.

Any information on this? I’m about to just transmute a new graphic over my citadel of flame shoulders. They’re really not appealing due to how big the rest of the set is.

It wasn’t that Swag. The only time I’ve ever transferred were due to bugged skill points or events; I’d heard if it was bugged on one server it might not be on another. But, I see no one knows if they simply made server caps lower or not. I guess I’ll keep trying to catch it below “Full” pop.

@Athaulf – I’m really not trolling. I’ve been playing on HoD for weeks and have now recently been stuck on Denova’s Rest. Add me to friends if you like and see as I sit on this server I really don’t want to be on; waiting until I finally see HoD drop below “Full”. It took long enough to get on and play with everyone, and now I fear it’ll take even longer.

@Swagman – I only transferred because, at that time, my server wasn’t “Full”. I knew I could get right back on.

I really hope that’s not the case. If so, I doubt I’ll ever get to play with my friends again.. or at least a long while. It’s the only thing keeping me from really playing a lot right now.

I’ve noticed that after the 24 hour transfer limit was put in place a lot more realms were constantly full (Possibly because people aren’t server hopping around?). I myself didn’t read the patch notes, and now I can’t get back to my home server because I’ve not yet seen my server dip below “Full” since I transferred last. I’ve even set alarms for 4 A.M. on multiple days just to see if I can get the chance to play with people I know again, but to no avail…

I’ve never seen the servers stay full for so long, and I know for sure I don’t see more people playing. So, what gives?

I’m sure I’m know the only one who agrees, but there simply needs to be more Quaggan. My home instance is currently filled with Hylek; a choice I deeply regret once actually talking to a Quaggan, coo!

Suggestions to fix this problem:
1.) Add a Quaggan mini-pet that speaks the way regular Quaggan do.
2.) Add some sort of purchase-able Quaggan butler in the cash shop for our home instance. I don’t care if my character doesn’t have a home – I want a Quaggan Butler (a regular one would work too!)
3.) Last, and probably the least likely to ever happen, allow me to throw these Hylek out. Please, Arenanet, I fully regret and apologize for choosing Hylek. Coo, me just want Quaggan.

Despite this being a bit of a joke, I truly am serious. I love Quaggan and would like to have them be a bit more accessible as a companion or in our personal instances. If I could go back and choose Quaggan I would – sadly, rerolling from a level 80 just isn’t worth it, even if I do love Quaggan.

I have also so far been riding the 2h GS…signet in every util slot because for leveling and exploring its simple(lazy) and really all you need…..and above all else I am all about being lazy when I am first experiencing a new game world. But after reaching level 40 and starting to take a greater interest in game mechanics, profession synergy, working in groups, etc I am tossing my GS and going to experiment with the other more active, effective and useful options. X/Horn really sounds like i could be pretty cool. Ive tried Hammer a few times but never really spent enough to time to really use it well so might try that if I can get myself a decent Hammer.

500:0 (win:loss) tourney group runs their warrior with Hammer/Mace build for support/defense. He can CC and lock people down like no other. Its incredibly powerful when group fighting.

I expect that in dungeons it would create much better situations for non-boss fights.

Bosses get CC reduction and immunities like crazy…which is part of the reason why they’re difficult fights for melee classes

Curious what the build looks like; I always wanted to try some Hammer/Mace-Shield build but get too lazy. I could guess it’s something standard, but who knows!
