I loathe the “timed” nature of these jumping puzzles for two reasons.
1) There is an added sense of urgency which makes it a “sink or swim” event, rather than one which requires players to determine how to approach a given jump or part of the puzzle.
2) Players who fail early have a significantly longer wait due to the “group instance” design of the puzzle. That means that players who are not skilled at jumping puzzles (or just haven’t figured out a particular one) are punished more than those who get further and fail towards the end of the puzzle.
Overall I find the timed jumping puzzles incredibly frustrating, compared to the much more enjoyable “normal” JPs (such as Goemm’s Lab). I only push myself through them as I’m a completionist for Achievements. (Note: I completed the Mad King’s Clock Tower twice, but have yet to complete the Winter Wonderland)
