Greets! I’m a long time friend of some core players enjoying GW2 & am trying to hop into the fun. Until recently GW2 did not support mac based players… Now that they do, their beta client refuses to install on both my iMac & MBP. The MBP is basically a clone of the iMac. I’ve been in sparse contact with their support service who is taking on average 2-3 days to respond…. (really lame)
Heres the problem – I download the beta client, mount the .dmg file, then run the initial set up. It installs something (small) on my HD, then starts to patch some files. After about 1 minute of those patches run the client closes & will not reopen via the application installed in my app folder. Nothing happens with a click it, I can get nothing to happen.
Steps I’ve taken so far:
Updated to Mountain Lion on my MBP (even though i had no use for it, i thought maybe it had something to do with lion server which is what i was running)
Updated (then uninstalled) xtools. (support said that there may be a conflict between x11 & xQuartz). Ive deleted the developer tools on my iMac as well.
Reset my SMC & PRAM
I am completely at a loss.. Two machines with the same problem. My MBP was cloned from the iMac using TimeMachine but are now running two different versions of OSX.
Ive included a screen shot at the exact moment before I loose contact with the GW2 installer.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly received since the support I’m getting from the developers is pretty poor…
