I can confirm that 12.10 beta driver solves the problem for XP/77xx. Before installation Solid Ocean Fractal was completely unplayable (its hard to jump on invisible structures), now everything works as expected.

I have the same problem on AMD Radeon HD 7770 (XP SP3, drivers 12.8), clean install without CCC.
