I’ll have to echo Hostile, I have a very similar system, E6600 with 2Gb RAM but have just decided to upgrade (motherboard dying helped that decision) to 8Gb DDR3 RAM, i5 3750 and Z77 based motherboard. This is a little more expensive but still under $400 and probably would get much better gains than just replacing your CPU with another 775 socket chip. And even if you update your OS to 64 bit the prices of DDR2 RAM are pretty high relative to DDR3 so it would probably make more sense putting that money into a better overall system.

I had to look it up when I was looking for mine, there is a karma vendor in Hooligan’s Alley in Lion’s Arch that “sells” it (gives it to you for free). Don’t remember the name off-hand though.

I run on ‘Auto Detect’ settings at 1920×1080 and probably average around 40 fps or so with some slowdown in areas.
However, my CPU is routinely at 60%+ capacity just running the game.

Wow can’t believe your CPU can handle it, I don’t use auto detect I have max in animations, texture, environment and override for the best texture appearance and have stuff like depth blur and vert sync and AA off and shaders on low and that basically get me 55-60 fps n average.

I have pretty much the same system, C2D E6600 and a HD6850 and get 25-30 fps, maybe I should try boosting the CPU clock a bit.
