My group killed him for the first time last night and none of us got exotics, or even rares (eh maybe ONE rare) so it’s definitely not guaranteed that you will get exotics from killing Lupicus.

You guys need to stand on the four tar fountains around the room. Standing on them blocks the fountain and the tars spawning. As soon as you do this, the boss pops up. Enjoy getting tarred :P
