Thanks for the replies. I’m extremely disappointed in Anet. Is there a source for EBGames not carrying it because of the exchange rate?

That being said a business is a business if guild wars 2 is not profitable for them, then they will obviously avoid stocking the expansion. For Exchange rates if you look up at the TSX they are reporting the CAD to drop even more so if you want it buy it now. Might be a year or two before the CAD gets closer to the USD.

As well not sure if this is true or not since it’s on the wiki which can be edited, but it did say that HoT will be sold for 2,400 gems. I’ll leave the link at the bottom for you all to check out I have a feeling it’s wrong though.

Game stores in Canada carry the same games they do in the USA (usually minus the Collector’s Editions) which includes many worse games, I don’t see any reason for them not to carry it other than Anet not making any deals with them. If Anet doesn’t want Canadians as customers then they won’t be getting me as a customer.

Unfortunately, as I stated in my post, buying it now isn’t an option for me. Even if it was the price is ridiculously high for an expansion.

And as previously stated, it won’t be for sale with gems.

Oh well, I’ve got hundreds of other games to play and a number of them are better games anyway. Hopefully it gets a good discount on GMG.com or something sooner rather than later.

Hopefully if you miss any of LS s3 they won’t make you have to buy those episodes separately as well, LS 1&2 episodes were mostly pretty poor quality.

I think I already know the answer since I haven’t been able to find anything, but I wanted to check anyway just in case anyone found anywhere selling Heart of Thrones in Canada or Canadian dollars or any price that doesn’t cost waaay more than Guild Wars 2 did when I got it at release (which I got from GreenManGaming for $48 USD).

Unfortunately the exchange rate right now to USD is ridiculous, $49 USD is $66 Canadian which for an expansion, regardless of what content it has, is way just high of a price. It’s also above what I can spend on games for the rest of the year (yay for bills, rip off dentists, and bad employers!).

Plus more if Anet charges the 12% sales tax my province has.

You honestly did not miss out on a whole lot. Some of it was neat for sure, but a lot of it was pretty rushed and largely forgettable.

Is there really nowhere to buy this at all in Canada? With the awful exchange rate right now it costs $66 (plus 12% tax for my province), which is what brand new, FULL games are going for now. That’s nearly $20 more for an expansion than I paid for Guild Wars 2 at release! I really hope there’s some way to pay for this in Canadian funds, really sick and tired of the tradition of screwing Canadians over.

On a personal note I also can’t just go and drop $66 on a game regardless right now… or for a while. I got really screwed over by my last employer.

Well the beached whales in Lion’s Arch are gone too

The whales appear to have been removed in tonight’s dye fixing update At least they are on Tarnished Coast. Several players are mourning the whales on the beach and hoping they are safe.
