I guess Primordus in Wayfarer Foothills and Diessa would probably be a huge scare for new players. Gameplay-wise, I think it’d make sense for Primordus not to show up, or at least not in those two zones. Otherwise, we’d have new players logging in and seeing this huge dragon.
I am excited. I am thrilled.
I feel like I am at the beginning of a wonderful and long tabletop campaign, only the images in my head are beautifully created by the folks at Arenanet.
Well done, guys.
I have played tabletop since my college days in 1978.
My mind is full of questions and I feel I am a part of the Lore of Tyria again.
Again I say…well done.
That is the way I felt too. When I first started playing GW2 a few weeks ago and again at the start of Flame and Frost.
Actually, that also took the form of an urge to play tabletop D&D.
“No dragons?” The storyline shouts Jormag and Primordius at us, I don’t quite believe there will be no dragons involved by the end. I mean, steam vents opening beneath Wayfarer Foothills and Earthquakes in Diessa Plateau? Sounds like Elemental stuff to me, and if I understand the lore well enough, that means dragons.
I don’t know how events work on ANet’s end: do they manually flip a switch, or change some code, or just give in a timed switch about when the event kicks off? If it isn’t manual but actually an automatically timed thing, might it not be possible to have different starting times for the events on the American and European servers? That way, Europeans and Americans won’t get into trouble with their working hours and we might have a lot less complaining players here because they missed an event (of course, communicating a time window for event start would come in handy there too).
Personally, I enjoyed it, and I think the running around frantically shouting “where is the event” was time-consuming but absolutely worth it (might be because I consider the story rewarding in and of itself, I’ve been on WoW too and when I played that they didn’t do much like what you did last night). I was gripped by the storyline (I wonder what is going on was my first question to my guild members) and though the refugees being one-time activation only combined with me not noticing a full inventory gave me a headache, I had fun.
From what the heralds said, I guess some battle or other is going on in certain parts of the two zones, I guess I’ll have to check that out next.
Thanks a lot, looking forward to the rest of it.
