welp sadly I’ll probably have to wait for something like what you’ve suggested to happen before i can start playing guild wars again.

The reason I ask is that it’s possible that Customer Service can help, if someone is targeting you. (If it’s more generic, there are perhaps some in-game tools I can discuss with you that might help.)

The whole problem with the whole targeting me thing is this person’s friends are good people and i don’t want them to suffer if he was forced to leave so i figured the best way around it is if i can block him and make myself invisible.

So i know its not the biggest bug but its annoying when trying to avoid people who are harassing you, and that is that the invisible status doesn’t really make it so people can’t see when your online or offline due to the face that if you are in their “friends list” even if they are blocked and they scroll over your name it will say what map you are in even if you are invisible. Also is there anyway that when you “block” a person you won’t show up on their chat or even as a character on the map. I’m just fine if that goes both ways.

We’ve been asking for this since before launch.

What’s changed since launch:

  • Invisible can no longer see or type in /guild chat.
  • Invisible now shows “last logon” as the last time you were visible, not the last timed logged on.

What people still want to see:

  • Invisible doesn’t show location to anyone, friends, guildies, and especially not /blocked — location should always be “offline” whether via list or mouse-over.
  • Invisible doesn’t show a yellow dot for the currently-repped guild.
  • /blocked can never see any status of invisible, including location, AP, or any aspect of the account.

I really liked the idea of retaliation scaling on toughness.

Keep dreaming. This will NEVER happen. If you scale damage with defense then you make tankier builds deal comparable damage to less tanky ones. Why go less tanky then? It would lead to a huge problem in PvP/WvW.

Or they could do it sorta off of how I believe reflects work for projectile’s and have the damaged based on the attacker’s power. And also i believe retaliation isn’t affected by condi so condi can be a hard counter. I also find it wierd that druid gets a stronger version of retaliation that can crit.

Retaliation since the very beginning has never been fun and I don’t know anyone that has cared about it. Its a very cool idea but the only time i’ve ever seen it work is when a small person is trying to take out a zerg in which the whole zerg has to have retaliation to make a dent. There are two different ways i can see this going either by upping the power of retaliation or by giving retaliation stacks. Honestly is there any time you see a person with retaliation boon and your hesitant to go up against them? Another proposal i’d like to throw out is the damage of retaliation being based on toughness rather than power seeing as it feels like its suppose to be more of a defensive boon.

Weapon swap is a welcome addition and a temporary fix. I would still prefer to see swap eventually swapped out for a mechanic similar to Elementalist. Where changing legends will change the primary skill functions much like utility skills swap with each legend.. So I can equip a staff and depending on which legend I am using it changes the play-style of the skills for the staff.

All this “balancing” announcements strike me as a major marketing move. So many things completely buffed as high as possible, it seems they released revenants in betas already screwed to the ground to come at us later claiming they’ve fixed/balanced it, and they simply buff the hell out of the skills. So much convenient to believe these damage coefficients weren’t meant to be like this since the beginning. IMO balancing will happen AFTER release, before that I’ll just sit and wait.

Yeah and im sure they were totally going to add weapon swapping later without any community input as well.

question / suggestion

1) now that half of Empty Vessel’s functionality has been made baseline, and
2) empty vessel is the GM minor trait in the class mechanic specialization line, and
3) all the core classes’s classs-mechanic spec improves the class mechanic (via cooldowns, etc)

please consider adding the following to the Empty Vessel trait:
~reduces cooldown of Legend Stance Swapping by 20%

in other words, please let us swap legends a couple seconds sooner if we spec into Invokations?

I like this suggestion. Anet, make it happen.

Overall a few tweaks. Ventari’s will should probably just be instant instead of having a cast time. It would also be nice if we had the tablet summons upon switching to ventari. Jalis skills could use some more survivability. This is supposed to be a more tanky stance as you’ve noted several times Anet, but it lacks this so far.

Forced engagement- also applies protection?

vengeful hammers- applies some sort of cripple, chill, slow, weakness?

These all sound great. I’m not a good enough number cruncher to know whether they will actually be enough to feel great, but I’m optimistic.

At present, my plan is to run maybe S/S and Staff Shiro/Jallis, or perhaps S/A M/S Shiro/Mallyx.

Either way, I like that damage is improving on things like Staff, but I’d really like to see more versatility added to the weapons so that they don’t seem so directly tied to a single Legend’s perks (ie all weapons should get some healing when in Ventari state, or some solid Condi procs when in Mallyx state, etc.).

Im very interested in testing these changes in dungeons. I mean if i don’t get kicked for being a revenant.

Jalis Heal cleanses conditions…

…and actually, Mallyx has no condition cleanse, just stacking resistance.

EDIT: In fact, Jalis and Ventari are the only two legends with universal condi cleanse. Shiro is movement-impairing conditions only and Mallyx just stacks resistance (okay vs. an engi, catastrophic vs. a condi necro or mes)

I’ve found it to be nowhere near enough condi cleansing. You can’t feel tanky on Jalis if all a condi user has to do is do some condi overload on you after you heal, which can also be easily interrupted. I don’t know, maybe non Ventari Revenants are supposed to be weak against conditions, like non HGH full elixir Engineers.

There is also the problem that you don’t’ feel very tanky on Jalis anyways.

Unless I’m missing something but isn’t the point of Mallyx tanking conditions and copying those conditions to your enemies? Why make it more difficult to maintain conditions on yourself for the extra effects of his utilities? Wouldn’t it have made more sense to proliferate (or extend) the resistance boon options instead?

I like the sound of the other changes though! Will have to test to know for sure.

Oh, and what about a ranged condi weapon option?

Taking and copying is more of a necro thing, on the other hand mallyx seems more like a take and increase damage output from taking them.

Eh… necro is about transferring conditions from self/allies and then to enemies. Mallyx I thought was taking condtions (or applying them to himself) and copying them to enemies. The distinction is Mallyx copies his existing conditions to enemies instead of giving them away. Without better access to the resistance boon however, the playstyle is self destructive.

But mallyx can also transfer conditions from allies to self as well. Mallyx is just overall doing better at transfering taking and using self afflicted conditions than necro does. Which is sort of sad.

These just come to my mind real quick

Still missing protection on Dwarf Stance
Stability road still wonky on dwarf stance (takes long for first stack to proc)
Tablet still not cast upon switch
Hammer still puts a (too thin?) wall too far in front of you
Heal skills still lacking identity on mallyx / dwarf
Too hard to maintain meaningful conditions on you to copy with mallyx
Resistance / blind not addressed

You know just thinking about it tablet initial cast could also be a heal/condi cleanse type thing to make up for you not getting it initially.

Agreed. The hammer upkeep skill should apply protection, or destroy proyectiles, or both… or whatever, anything. It’s just a weak glorified PBAoE passive temporary damage buff. It’s that bad.

or cripple or “chill” on hit. Cause i guess chill is suppose to be more of a rev thing than cripple?

One thing I still think needs a look at is the Jalis elite. It has too long of a cast time for the effect. Just feels off.

If they do not speed up its cast time, I would see Jalis elite as a “initial defense” for pushing to an enemy.. for example.. Jalis/Shiro… Start in Jalis, use elite, swap to Shiro and close gap and bang away until they drop. Seems like you can hit like a truck and tank like a boss for an initial few seconds of engagement. (Jalis elite = 50 energy, so you are empty, so you must legend swap (instant 50%) to gap close…)

I think an initial 1 stab stack on cast would help alot with it.

I was still hoping forced engagement would have a lower energy cost or something better than that casting time. It is so easily dodged and 2 seconds of taunt doesn’t feel like much for 50 energy as well. It needs some sorta of boost. Also rite of the great dwarf needs a better explanation and maybe 1 stack of stability while casting? its so easily interrupted for the long cast time.

One thing that I don’t see alot in the feedback is something that could be easily added, which is more utilities per legend. So I’d like to pull together some ideas for more utilities for each legend that fit its theme and also gives it more customization.

Upkeep skills are cool and it would be interesting to maybe have skills that don’t have more than -5 but something like -2 or something where your still generating energy but at a slower rate.

I’ll throw down some examples i have but I’d like to get more ideas here.

Examples:

Jalis-
1. Upkeep skill- (-2 energy) increases toughness stat of nearby allies or maybe pulse weakness or vul
2. Something that gives protection, blast area around you while giving protection maybe?

Malyx-
1. Upkeep skill- (-3 energy) skill 1 applies 1 stack of torment per hit.
2. Aoe torment and taunt skill

Ventari-
1. Upkeep skill- (-3 energy) healing done to allies is more effective
2. push back foes near tablet

We can all see that you truly love your guild, Tyrion… and that’s excellent! I’m pleased that you have found yourself a great way to enjoy the game.

But other people get equally as much enjoyment from the game and guilds in their own, different, ways. And that’s really awesome too!

But forcing your own way to play/involvement with guilds isn’t going to work for many people. Doing so would decrease their enjoyment and that is not ok- it’s not good for the game or community.

What A-net are doing with the new guild updates are increasing the amount of ways people can have fun with their guilds and in-game. More variety is a great thing. It’s not hurting anybody.

Yeah im old fashion sorry about that… but in a way im tired of people that doesnt have any sense of feeling as they belong to anything… and just logg on and… yeah… have no safty nett nore people to rely on. Maby they have.. but i cant see that happen in a community of representing all over the place. thats just my opinion… and yeah i know people play diffrent and i want them to enjoy gw2. Enjoy it as much as u want as long as u stay in it Im happy for ur own ways to enjoy the game and how u play gw2… im just offering my opinion to my old sense of how a guild should be. <3

As a person that likes a large diversity of what guild wars has to offer, its pvp, pve, wvw, rp, exc, You can’t tell me that there is any one guild that is great in ALL of them. I do not offer any disrepect but can you truely say that your guild is excellent in all EVERYTHING guild wars 2 has to offer? My point, again no disrespect, is that will having a 100% represent guild you are restricting your members to the weaknesses that your guild has as NO guild can be perfect at everything.

Thats not what I meant I mean I’d like to turn off some of the UI not the whole UI. That makes it so you can’t tell if your low on health and no chat bubbles and such. It would be nice to be able to choose what parts of the UI to have rather than all or nothing.

I don’t know as a player that I mean I love this game and I have 8 lvl 80’s but I mean the rarest drop I’ve ever gotten is superior rune of divinity. I’ve never gotten a precursor hell I’ve spent 460 ectos on mystic clovers and only have gotten 40 so I’ve just come to the conclusion that gw2 hates me or that somehow my drop chance is worse than everyone elses….

I’m looking for a pure pvp guild to do free and paid tournaments with. I mostly play as a burn eng and a bunker guardian but can play any class. I have a 42-21 win/loss record although 10-11 of those are from attempting to do free tournaments without a team. Hence why I’m looking for a PvP guild so I’m able to coordinate with my team better.
