Yes, it’s another T8 thread!!! I just transfered out of Fergusons crossing and into Borlis Pass. I’de like to say farewell to the demoralising numbers of SF, the attempts at defending a whole map with 4 people, and the mostly green pie chart; and hello to a WvW experience that is actually fair and enjoyable.
I know nobody else cares, but something really needs to happen in T8. Even something as simple as moving Sorrows furnace up into T7 and putting a new server in the mix might generate some more interest in WvW battles. Fighting in T8 for FC and ET has been a hopeless waste of time for the 3 months i’ve been playing gw2.

I’ve played games that are 15 years old and contain an inbuilt party finding window. I think it’s just silly making people visit a website to find a party for their dungeons or fractals. I know that Anet makes money with the amazing amount of traffic viewing the advertisements on the website, but isn’t that what we paid $60 to avoid?
It’s frusturating trying to join full partys after copying and pasting the names of others.

Open up task manager next time it minimizes. One of the programs in that list is making gw2 minimise. Try turning off the unessentail ones 1 at a time to figure out which one it is

Click on them, and right click on their picture icon to the right of their name, then select report. Might also want to guest to their server and contact their guild leader, most people don’t condone hacking in their guild.

You could try using VMware virtual machine. I’ve used it before on other games, though not sure how well it would run gw2.

Have you tryed installing the game to your secondary hard drive? Might be a hardware issue if the files are being corrupted. Possible a dodgy network adapter or driver?

I’m running quad core 3ghz AMD CPU, 8 gb RAM, and a 4890HD Graphics card. I’ve had this problem for the past few months that causes the whole computer to freeze. First the map background will go completely black, the icons in the inventory won’t render, and neither will the text inside any option menu boxes. The pc will freeze in the next few mins after that starts happening. My card runs every other game fine, i was thinking that maybe gw2 just doesn’t support my 3 year old card any more? Does anybody else have a similar problem? The game runs perfectly when this doesnt happen, its just those 3 ‘background details’ that fail sometimes and lead to a whole pc freeze.
Ps, ive stress tested every aspect of my hardware, im sure it’s not a hardware issue. Also got latest drivers.

I bet if you worked at it that you could get more folks on your server to show up for wvw.

I don’t think you understand the effect of getting owned every single day. People are losing interest in such an unfair fight. I play the game mainly for WvW, and im sick of it.

It really REALLY needs to be stressed that FC and ET do not have insanely smaller populations compared to other servers that many people believe simply because of the rankings and that SF is beating them bad. I’ve played on several servers, mostly FC, and honestly if anything FC has improved in numbers since it was competitive with Devonas Rest when they shot up the rankings.

Seriously? Not sure what time of day you are playing, but when i am on, each pack of SF that attacks a tower outnumbers the total defenders in the land. It’s not a matter of skill. We can hold our own and even push back bigger groups of the enemy, just not outnumbered in the ratio that we are.

If people cared about t8 they wouldn’t be in tier 8. The reason they’re tier 8 is because so few people care. There’s always going to be a bottom tier.

Lots of people in Fergusons Crossing or Eradon Terrace care about WvW play. We just simply don’t have the numbers to compete with Sorrows Furnace. Being in the bottom tier is not the problem here. The problem is being matched against a server (SF) that has the man power to push back ET and SF at the same time, rushing your towers with 50 men when there are only 5 people online to stop them. What about merging a few servers together? You could merge FC with ET and still not have the population that SF does.
There really does need to be a change up. Sorrows furnace isnt enjoying the lack of a challenge and ET & FC are sick of fighting a hopeless battle.

Not sure how, or half the mesmers would be doing it. But he gets through the wall somehow, as the vid shows. I’m suprised the video is that old and nothing has been done about it yet

^ Why do you think this is posted in the bug section? By using a glitch like i already said.

I’ll try to get fraps, but i can promise you that the mesmer started on the outside of the wall. Then breached inner wall in the same way. We already did mesmer sweeps after it happened the 1st time

There is a glitch that allows mesmers in WvW to use the portal gun to bypass the walls and get inside the keep without seige weapons. Twice in 30 mins now the DH guild from Eradon Terrace have used this glitch to take the Garrison Keep in Fergusons crossing before anybody knew what was happening. I took a screenshot just before they captured the base to show the people involved. I know it doesn’t prove that they used the glitch, it happened too fast for me to screenshot all the walls and gates. I’ll just have to rely on other reports comming in as evidence.

Your problem sounds unique. I’ve never had any issues with dailys on the Fergusons Crossing server.

Not even sure if i’ve spelled it right, but for the underwater quest in Snowden Drifts on the Fergusons crossing server, the quaggan that you are supposed to be escorting is dead inside a rock and cannot be reached to be revived. This also happened a few weeks ago inside a different rock, not sure how that one was fixed. Perhaps some code to stop him from getting inside the rocks when he dies would be useful?

For the people that are saying that the theives in question are not hacking, i say to you that you have clearly not been playing WvW recently. These theives will hit you, dissapear in less than a second, come back 2 seconds later and repeat until you and the other 10 people you are with are all dead. There is nothing you can do to stop these people, and targeting them is out of the question.
On top of this are the people you see in PvE that will teleport around to the mining and gathering spots to collect their fill, then instantly disappear and reappear at the next place. And you are telling me there are no hacks?
I paid for this game as opposed to a free to play MMO because i was sick of playing with hackers in other games when the moderators do nothing about it. I assumed that with the income Arenanet was pulling in that they would have a team assigned to deal with these issues. This has been going on for months. I loved this game, but now i wish i could get my money back.
