So you can confirm I get that full damage under quickness? If so I’m pretty pleased. It’s kinda hard to see with everything that’s going on during a proper fight. I’m lucky to even see the enemy itself half the time if they’re not enormous.

“A symbol is a marked effect that guardians can place on the ground, where they inflict damage to enemies and deliver a boon to allies that enter it. Symbols generally persist for a few seconds and then disappear. A player can maintain only one mark of the same type at a time, making a new one while it is still active will dissipate the first one.”

Hello hammer guardian players!

During recent theory-crafting/experimentation, an issue has become apparent.

I’ll outline the main points that led me to my conclusion before sharing other thoughts.

- A new symbol of the same type overwrites the last one.
- Writ of persistence increases duration, which adds a pulse of heal/protection
- Quickness increases hammer chain speed.
- Hammer chains usually take 3.7s
- Quickness brings that down to about 2.4s
- Symbols of Protection with Writ of Persistence last 4s

I believe the result under quickness is:
- Sumbols are overwritten before pulsing their extra damage/prot from Honor.
- This could account for a ~11% loss of hammer damage

I feel like this has been overlooked by Anet, as quickness traditionally adds 50% to auto attack damage, but here there is an artificial limit.

This actually reduces the value of Symbolic Power and Symbolic Exposure.

With boon duration boosts from a revenant and/or bountiful utility item, boon sharing from melee mesmers or dagger/warhorn eles, is it possible that honor is sup-optimal or even redundant?

With all the other boons thrown around, virtues can offer healing, and perhaps around 27% damage.

Valor can offer ferocity, allied toughness, extra aegis, and more.

Radiance can give more crit, blinds, 10% damage under retal, extra burn, etc.

Other combinations are: valor/virtues, virtues radiance, virtues zeal, valor/zeal, valor radiance. More damage mitigation, soft cc, and more direct damage amplification/sources.

Currently my main reasons for even bringing Dragonhunter to a fight despite the delay to F2 (inc. possible interrupt) are the F3 duration-based (rather than count-based, eg. focus) block and cripple uptime from traps, which may be even redundant in an organised team. (As an aside I feel like fragments of faith offers far more than procession of blades to a group.).

Essentially, honor’s relevance in organised, instanced group content depends upon foe mobility and closeness of ally stacking. It’s also inefficient for ranged weapons. Given the small redundancy in the damage available, coming from a bonus offered by the GRANDMASTER trait, the value of this trait line seems quite limited.

This post isn’t here to tell people not to bother with honor, or to discredit what has been achieved in both playing this build/role, and expanding the meta-playing audience’s vision from the generic GS/LB/mace builds. It is powerful, and has its relevance, but the limitations make whether a revenant could get more out of my ascended gear worth consideration. Utility should be freeing, no?

The aim here is open discussion about other viable hammer builds. I feel quite boxed in with this “meta” build, and the redundancies leave the build somewhat underwhelming.

Please do share thoughts, data, or other suggestions, and for goodness sake do correct me thoroughly if I’m mistaken.

I was trying to access a Dragon’s Stand map with a character that hasn’t got the waypoints yet to join a guild member, as little time was left and my gear was all on that character.

First a monster spawned on top of me, out of sight, preventing me from teleporting. Next the map was full. Quite a few were used up, and this shouldn’t have ever been possible.
When your inventory is too full to open a bag or map/daily reward it doesn’t destroy the items when you click it. When you activate a self style hair/total makeover kit and don’t end up changing your appearance with it, they’re not destroyed. When you fail to salvage with a Black Lion Salvage Kit a charge isn’t used.

So why are these teleports getting used up when they physically cannot be used?
I only used more than one because I was operating under the assumption that it would not be used if it could not actually be used, like with all other black lion items.

I want the Teleport to Friends refunded, they were destroyed for nothing and there is no warning of any kind. It doesn’t fit in with how any other similar items work. They’re a very limited resource I got from black lion chests. That they’d be wasted because of a bug like this is completely unreasonable.

If I don’t get at refunded I would at least like them to add how it ACTUALLY works to the tooltip, or 1) block use during combat 2) stop them being consumed if the targeted map is full. So at least nobody else misses out. I can’t be the only one.

I’m actually afraid to use my remaining two in case they disappear for nothing like the others.

I know this is a necro post but I’m having the same issue, almost a year later. This should have been sorted by now. It’s super simple. You just make the instance start where the actual achievement challenge starts. The actual invisible part.

Fail, log in and out, walk back and forth to start the instance, wait for Marjory to walk over, talk to Marjory, plant a seed, activate the seed, talk to Faolain, wait for unskippable dialogue, wait for unskippable jumping cut scene, kill two NPCs with unavoidable stuns that have no relation to any achievements, knock out guard, unlock first door, complete basic first room with four knock outs and a door, complete basic second room with two switches on a timer, hit a switch, more unskippable dialogue.

All of this every single time you want to get to the third or fourth room, where the challenge actually is. There’s even more unskippable dialogue after the third stage.

For every single attempt at Invisible Infiltration. 80% of this achievement is filler.

You also can’t cancel a knock out channel.

It would be like having to start Exposed Weaknesses: Redux from the library book section after giving a boon to a vortex crystal on the last boss’s last fraction of health.

That achievement was also ridiculous to complete because:
1) A guardian cannot switch off free aegis from virtues
2) Marjory stops helping you after the first attempt

I can’t to my knowledge get any help with this achievement.

Please Anet, fix this.

Also tried disabling my antivirus and firewall again as they blamed those. No luck ofc. Same crash.

The help ticket people are telling me it’s my antivirus/firewall which makes no sense because there’s no reason for those to block the end of a specific mission in a video game.

I’ve asked what the connection is between the mission and the crash and they gave a completely out of context generic response saying that it’s caused by packet loss and such. I knew this, it was the premise of the question. For kitten’s sake.

What does it take to get an actual answer from them?

Back n forth with them all day and I’ve been given no actual information as to how this can be resolved.

I uninstalled and reinstalled from scratch after restarting my computer.

The error is still happening at the exact same time. The Master of Peace starts talking, then it hangs, I get an error and am brought back to character select.

So it’s not my hardware, firewall, DNS settings, OS, local files/installation, or internet connection.

I did try the repair thing but the crash was still occurring as per my second post. GW2 has finished reinstalling and I shall test the mission now.

Thank you. That actually narrows down the nature of the issue.

I figure a connection issue where they receive no data is almost inconsequential which is a cause of lag, which doesn’t DC people, it must be corrupted requests.

This could probably stem from corrupted game files if it’s not the internet.

I’ll reinstall, and then file a ticket if this doesn’t resolve things. Will report back with results.

Every time, I get 7:11:3:191:101 during the dialogue at the end of Living World Season 2, Episode 1, “Cornered”. I get disconnected and have to start over, only to get disconnected at the end again. Why?

This is supposedly an internet-related issue. Nonsense.

Since it’s happening at the exact same moments it’s not a connection issue.

Other error codes under the same error category occur during this episode, and other episodes of other story modes.

The same is also happening to Eluvea.1834 on both her OS X Yosemite desktop and Windows 8.1 laptop, while I’m on a Windows 7 desktop with no specific components in common so it’s not a hardware or OS issue.

We’ve used the suggested fixes related to Google DNS, firewall, etc. It’s not like any of these would target events within a story within a video game. That’s absurd.

Replaying the same 10-30 minutes over and over on the off chance that these bugs don’t occur so we can actually progress is turning story modes into a chore.

We’d really like to just get back to playing the story. How can this be fixed?
