I’ve had the same problem. After I walk up a set of grand stairs accompanied by grand music, the quest does not proceed. I walk up to the green quest marker, but my character does not talk to the Avatar of the Tree as expected from previous encounters.
I then walk all around the map back and forth but nothing happens. This is disappointing; I think I might just skip the main quest line and level up to 80.
