I can’t remember the exact thread I read it in, but a dev posted that loot doesn’t scale in PvE so you’re able to farm lower lv mats with your main. I’m pretty sure loot scales in WvW though.

I use dagger as my offhand choice but I haven’t tried the others at the same time as the scepter so maybe they work just as well. One of the factors that made me choose dagger is that deathly swarm blinds as well. The blind plus access to weakness as well is awesome for mitigating damage. I’m still leveling my necro at this point so I haven’t had much group experience with him but I definitely plan on trying other offhands once I get higher in lv.

She did answer your question though, with her first post no less. PvE loot doesn’t scale to your level so all you have to do is go a zone where tier 2 mats are dropped and you’ll be able to get it off any cloth armour you salvage. That being said, I’ve noticed that chest rewards have scaled but you generally don’t want to salvage them anyway so it isn’t a huge issue.

I don’t have much experience with the necro but I play a condition build. I run epidemic as one of my utility skills which works nicely especially when attackers are massed at a door. I’ll lead by activating signet of spite, follow it with epidemic and it generally means that everybody at the gate will have a host of conditions on them. Granted that epidemic inflicts vulnerability on yourself but it’s easy enough to strip conditions as a necro. Again, I’m not yet lv 20 with my necro so I don’t know how well it will work at later levels but it’s been working great for me so far.

I think he meant copper ore, not copper currency. This is the first I’ve heard of this path but I’m a bit sceptical. I feel that that much copper along a single path would skew prices on the TP too much if the route became general knowledge.
