Last two weeks i cant even play WvW normally i just run into enemy zerg and im dead. :/
I did not have that much problems previously. I do tend to use Engi with granades (no autoattack so im as good as a practice dummy) or wells-necro – read heavy AOE – the most usefull skills are not even triggering i just stand there (or walk around) until im dead. WvW kind of became pointless

CPU:i7-3770k @3.5GHz 3.5GHz,
RAM: 8Gb
GPU: AMD RAdeon HD 6700

I like the idea of orders being included – but it can be anyone from the outside world. Here is the idea.

Proposal Overview

We do not need more fractals exactly – we need them to be more diverse and to increese replayability of them. Let’s say we have different Orders and other NPC as part of fractals that would join us on investigating them (1 NPC following us through a complete run). This could end up bringing up new events in fractals, changeing boss mechanincs and maybe bring in a small chance for a special loot at the end for each different NPC we take with us, or guaranteed type of loot maybe. This NPC would also give us a different view of the fractal by commenting (speaking) during the run. This would allow for more lore to be included in without hurting speed-runners much.

Goal of Proposal

Goal of this proposal is to increes the replayability of the fractals not change the core part of what they are. Every level of fractals, every fractal on each level would gain with this the incredible amount of replay value. The lore would be accessible through replaying with different NPC as a ‘guide’ and achievements that come with completing every one possible combination NPC-Fractal would make pople do them all the time increesing the number of players interested in them.

Proposal Functionality

By entering fractals players would be able to talk to number of NPCs and choose if they want one of them to join on the adventure (similar to choice in personal story). The NPC would offer players to pay them in some way(see the end of this chapter for example). By choosing the NPC to join them, players are automatically going to get the new events in fractals (and as i said maybe change slightly mechanics of some bosses). Each fractal should have 1-3 events added depending on the complexity of the events.
During the runs NPC would take notice of things and explain what he/she is observing providing us with more lore about a fractal(much like NPCs talking in explorable dungeons AC comes to mind: “Ah, the reliquary of the king’s guard. My notes are unambiguous. There’s a scepter here.”)
At the end the NPC would give some kind of token to the players as an agreed payment for taking them with. (can be a small fee for example –
NPC1 – 25s on completing fractals
NPC2 – additional fractal relic
NPC3 – random crafting component etc.)

Associated Risks

Main risk here as i see it is the unfortunate distribution of loot or difficulty for each NPC. If one makes things much easier the other ‘ways’ will be evaded by players. If one has better rewards players will choose that one. But this is somehting that i personally see as an easy to handle risk.

IMO Zaithan cant be compared to others – he is the dragon of death… hence death is his thing.

Others however are exploiting something else – i did not find anyone “corrupted” by Primordus… does it happen? GW1 shows just his minions – i think he creates them by magic out of the stone and nothing else…
And i disagree that branded are dead… have we forgoten one of the luitenant of Kralkatorrik being cured of corruption? Glint leads us in original GW1 prophecies she makes the prophecy. And she is quite alive when we meet her there…

Lore behind fractals

Hi there,

regarding 1st question – little is known, all we know is that they were introduced along with that weird competition for black lion – the Consortium. I can’t say more about that since i am not completely sure if Consortium wanted to charge people for exploring them, use people to explore them and utilize them in some way to gain money or something else…

2nd question – I believe that Dessa is somewhat of a semi-failed attempt to bring someone back from fractals. Mists are somewhat “the other side” of the Tyria. Sometimes they are (as in original GW) place where dead go, they are home to some races as well, GW players went there in nightfall. However, mists are as well the fabric of the world. I wouldn’t connect them to past/present/future… They simply are… If someone was able to come from fractals to “present” Tyria i’d say they’d be mad, confused or severly affected in some way. For instance Dessa keeps “restarting” – you could have seen it with fractured living story update. So i personally belive that character brought from fractals would be unplayable.

3rd. As i understood fractals simply are. Imagine them as pictures. Just pictures of a single event, and not a moment. And you do get to affect them in a way. As i see it, every time you are looking at them, some “instability” happens – and you are there simply to stabilize it and nothing more (Dessa will perform analysis of everything else). Agony is in my oppinion just a consequence for going into that different world and the way that instability there is affecting you. So we as people from current Tyria are observers, but we do have to stabilize the fractal to have any useful data to use from them – those that do get inside dont get to observe much – they are inside of it they have to deal with instability, those on the outside on the other hand, can sneak a peek at them in a more general and objective way.

Again this is more what my oppinion is since there are not that much information on this. But personally I would keep away from it when it comes to my bio – you maybe can go with ‘went to fractals – was lost there for a long time – now returned (with some specific quirk)’, but originating from fractals would open up too many questions that just cant be answered.

What EXISTING weapon would you like on Necro?

Personnaly i believe that mace/shield would be amazing…

Mace
1 – autoattack would have 3 chain hits
hit 1 – simple smash
hit 2 – weakness for 1-2s
hit 3 – voulerability for 3s
2 – create a small AoE field uder your feet for 2-3s that does something fun – could be mark since we only get them at staff and it could blind the opponent
3 – a short range (600) that cripples for time based on LF

Shield
4 – 3s aura that steals hp from the attackers (projectiles counted as well)
5 – a wave of blackness that spreads in a range around you and steals hp and removes a boon from hit target

i can just see the necro with these two weapons in hand… would look soo cool for a bunker builds

but what id really like is a trait that gives a random condition to someone who critically hits necro… that would feel necro like

GS can be a bit weird in this scenario… id go for a boon removing skills there it would be OP if adding much more, maybe some speed and boons to allies… yeah i can see GS as a support – boon provider kind of build

Shortbow this could be fun but low dmg ofcourse maybe some conditions like cripple and bouncing attacks, poison fields maybe, some bleeds but not too much

Longbow this opens up an opportunity for more minions… i like the idea of summoning a bunch of minions with this that simply spawn at target location and do attacks for 5-10 seconds (skills 3, 4, 5) and autoattack should be something like slow arrow that just deals dmg and 2 for immobilize or maybe pull target

Sword – its kind of hard to imagine necro with a sword for me but then again i had same issues with ele and daggers so it can be fun… really fun… lets say you can only use it main hand and skill 3 is actually a passive skill that changes what condition the main attack applies, second skill would be as well based on selection of 3rd
so it would be like this

skill 3 selection of aura:
BloodMagic – autoattack bleeds, skill 2 imobilizes single target
Abys – autoattack applies weakness, attack 2 applies aoe voulnerability
Chill – autoattack chills target for 1s, skill 2 applies chill AOE for 3s
Vampiric – autoattack steals health, skill 2 does the same but AOE

or something like that

i had fun just thinking about it lol

Disconnects 7:11:3:189:101 since patch

Hi,
I keep getting 7:11:3:189:101 error but only on one character, so I am a bit confused how it can be a connectivity issue altogether but ok…
I have no problems on any of the other characters only this one.
Will we get any additional information regarding if this is being looked at or if this will be fixed, or even what we can do to fix it?

yeah maybe a good thing to add is that I can log in, and I do enter the game but at one point (1-5minutes) i get this message.
