Guild Wars 2

Just a word of warning to all out there. I haven’t played GW2 for a while now but I received an email today informing me that my account was being deleted. It was sent to a different email address than I used for my GW2 account but this email was very, very realistic. It was only by checking the IP on Whois that I discovered that the sender wasn’t Guild Wars 2.

Somehow they managed to imitate the url of the mail server, but the IP for that server turned out to be fake. I always treat such emails such as this with suspicion but this one almost fooled me.

I just thought I’d post a warning for the rest of you. I don’t know how these people managed to associate my GW2 email address with my non-gaming email address, but I’m glad I keep separate email addresses for my gaming and my real life situations.

IMO, the main reason for no OoC clones is simply to reduce latency in hubs liek Lion’s Arch. I wouldn’t bet on this being the only reason, but I’d debate it over a cold beer or two.

I’m having this same issue. I found Elli in the water, but can’t interact with the crew at all.
