Well I’m glad they have you here to clear up that misconception
This thread is 3 months old and no response from Anet? I too need this fixed, or I’d at least like my 200 gems back.
I had an issue like this back when I first started playing the game a year ago. I was able to fix by lowering the mem bus speed and clock speed both by 100 on my graphics card. Not sure how it’s done with a AMD card as I have Nvidia.
My brother is having the same issue on his Mac….evga 680 mac edition card. Just bought the game and installed it yesterday. He gets a black screen when logs in but can here music.
Bump for my all time favorite Mesmer. This guy was a class act all around, chatted with him numerous times and he always took the time to explain things and give great advice.
I say -100 because that is usually a good amount to reduce your speeds by w/o noticing much performance difference.
I too was having crashing issues with my GTX295. I could play maybe 20mins or maybe 5secs. Tech support was zero help. I just kept going round and round in circles doing the same things over and over with them.
I resolved my issue by going in and lowering my memory and core bus speeds by 100.
1. Open Nvidia Control Panel
2. Go to “Adjust GPU settings”
3. Select “Custom Clock Frequencies”
4. Mine are set to “501 core bus” and “930 memory bus”
5. I haven’t had a single crash and my FPS even improved. I am able to play on highest settings and my card stays under 50 degress C.
Like most I kept getting “signal lost/ no video input”. Then screen goes black. I currently have a Nvidia GTX295
I decided to lower my Core Bus and Memory Bus. I personally lowered mine by 100. You can do this buy:
1. Opening Nvidia Control Panel
2. Select “Adjust GPU settings”
3. Select the box “Custom Clock Frequencies”
4. Slide your bus speeds back and then apply settings.
Since this I have had better performance and no black screens. Before this I was laggy and could play the game from 5 secs to 10mins then crash.
Less than a minute into the game my screen says “Video Input Loss” I have tried deleting Local.Dat, Reseeding my card, making sure I was application only. I do not know if this goes along with Black Screen Issues but I fear it may. I use a GTX 295. I have no issues with Diablo 3 when playing that game. Any advice or help would be appreciated. Thanks.
