FLIMP plays an awesome build utilising it:
I bet he will answer you here.
If you are coming from 20/20/0/0/30, that trait is most likely not worth anything.
But if you already have 20 or 25 for the Staff CD / a condition build the points don’t hurt that much.
The buffs are great in stealth, since you can get hit in stealth.
There was a topic like that some days ago:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/mesmer/Best-build-for-FOTM-AC-Exp-for-Mesmer/first#post1099716
Many just go with full Berserkers and are fine, while others are not.
You can go with Knight Gear and use Berserker Accessorys for example, but the best combo might be Berserkers.
10/30/0/0/30 is ok, but I would suggest 20/20/0/0/30 giving you the option of boon removal or shorter signet CD when you need it. (Or GS training otherwise :p)
Just two things:
Level 40 is for Deceptive Evasion
Phantasmal Haste shortens the the time between hits of the Phantasm not the CD.
Since you were happy with your build, I stopped repling.
This is the build I thought would fit your liking, without ignoring the mesmers main mechanic shatters, or not using our most powerful skill portal.
It is similar to the build FLIMP posted.
If you want to be mobile defending two points, or the situation requiers it use portal.
If you want to defend one point, use null field.
But maybe the worst build ever for you :p
You might want to switch Chaos III to Chaos V.

I believe that it works, I just think this build can be refined further.
How much did Restorative Mantras help?
How long is the uptime of your Phantasms?
Do you feel you are a better bunker than an ele or guardian?
I can’t provide you THE BEST build since there is a build for everyone in PvE, but maybe give you some advise. 20/20/0/0/30 + berserkers is basically fine for FOTM and AC. I guess you remove boons with the 20 in Domination, thats really helpful.
Currently Shattered Strength is really powerful, you might want to share that with your group by using Signet of Inspiration. Use Two Shatters and use the Signet, depending on the group setup, everyone should have 25stacks of might now.
Mantra of Resolve helps with conditions eating you up :p
With that in mind, rerun AC as most death in exp modes come from not knowing whats coming up.
Oh and for FOTM you want feedback really often.
Outplaying an opponent makes everything viable :p
But giving an opponent on your level an edge by playing a not perfect build is not a good thing to do.
I see the point now why Restorative Illusions is not even an option, since you want to rely heavily on phantasms.
Maybe someone who thinks better of phantasms than me might help you here :p
Edit: Yes testing a build is always a good thing to do :p
Your Armor is pretty high, but that’s it.
Restorative Mantras will kick in after one of your Mantras is empty and the CD is ready again. So if you are not planning to waste your charges this trait will give you a heal for recasting Mantra of Recovery.
The theoretical 100% regen up time becomes 0% uptime against a profession with any aoe and with that your protection is gone also.
That’s already two flaws in the build.
I think it is possible to find a playable build in that direction, but not with using Restorative Mantras without Mantra of Pain, or with relying on boons that can be killed.
Edit: To help you at least a bit :/ : Try a build with Restorative Illusions and remove the “I cast mantras all the time mess”. With that trait you will apply pressure to heal and not running circles to heal.

Hey there, I played a Mantra 30/30/0/0/10 build for a long time in PvE and WvW.
While I still play it in WvW, I droped it in PvE. I played it with Phantasmal Fury and Greatsword Training/Shattered Concentration but the rest was the same.
Mantra of Recovery is great, if you manage to not get downed once.
Every time I rallied I wished for a heal that I can just use after its CD and not for the mantra I have to cast just over 3secs (now) without being able to dodge.
That basically applies to every mantra we have, using it three times is great but recasting them removes every edge you might gain from them.
Mantra of Resolve became my favorite Mantra, once you have it ready (pre fight) you might not even need to recast it. That’s the one mantra I feeled the most worth one.
Mantra of Distraction is the one I couldn’t find a use for in PvE because of how bosses are stunnable, but that might be me.
Mantra of Pain lets you fire 3 hits that crit for ~2k while you can do whatever you want. Lets even say you critted 3 times, you just got 6k dmg for another 3sec cast.
Mantra of Concentration is very situational it has it uses but very often it is not worth the slot.
Since you want to use Mirror Images, you have 2 slots left. in one of those two you want Feedback really often.
So from a PvE perspective you spec 10 points in Domination and 10 points in Dueling to get a heal that is not that great if you ever go down and 8% more dmg.
Don’t get me wrong its a great build and I really like it. I just feel like every other build is more worthwhile in PvE.

Mesmers Mantra is one for example.
This Bug is even mentioned in the wiki, but under discussion.

Since the devs have a bug database, the best we can do is to report them here imo.
Superior Rune of the Centaur
(6): When you use a heal skill you and all nearby allies gain swiftness for 10 seconds. (cooldown: 10s)
The cooldown is 15seconds, I hope for a fix.
