I did my first one today too, and it was a so-so experience. I kept falling behind everyone else because I paused to watch the story, but I managed to catch up. I put off doing dungeons up until now because of the low rewards I had read about here on the forums, so now I need to play catch up to my level.

What would you want out of your "end-game" experience

Well I started my online gaming habit on the original Guild Wars, so I made many alts and ran them through the content again. Many players did that, as the level cap was only 20. And I also play Champions Online, which has a level cap of 40, and everyone makes alts on that game too. The level cap here is now 80, and for those who zoomed through the content already and have nothing left at all to do, I suggest making an alt, or many many alts, and play through the content again IF YOU WANT. If not, I really don’t know what to tell you.

Guild Wars 2 is clearly a game made for altaholics, which is why there are so many paths to take in our personal stories. I don’t really like the personal story very well because mine seem to be filled with waves and waves of mobs, and I do not intend to run any alts due to that alone. I’m going to find something else to play after I hit 80, or go back to Champions where I have a lifetime subscription to burn through.

My problem with DE system

DE’s are pretty good, I like them, and some are a bit amusing especially if there is an Asuran NPC involved in the plot. That one where they made a stinky ettin suit out of ettin refuse was cute. It’s not the typical boring old “read five paragraphs of text to get the plot of the quest” type games. I think that’s why people practically zoomed to level 80 so fast, not enough reading to slow them down.

Don’t get me wrong I loved Guild Wars 1 and the quests it had, but some MMOs out there are slap ate up with quests, so many that you just don’t really care to read it all after a while. You just want to get your XP and be gone. That is what Guild Wars 2 gives us, a fun way to earn experience.

Are Mesmers supposed to run a lot in fights?

I don’t run much in fights unless there’s too many mobs to fight and I have to keep on my toes or get downed. I use Phantasmal Defender and that helps if a mob gets in your face. Mostly I can distract mobs with my clone or berseker though. It helps if you don’t open with your autoattack, and instead open with a clone or phantasm. I bounce my clone onto the mob and she usually gets all the hate rather than me. I wear that signet that gives illusions more health though, so my clones and phantasms don’t usually die against regular mobs. My phantasms also have the regen trait and when they are all standing together they regen each other. They do die fairly easily against Champions though, and if your clones and phantasms die too much try to shatter them for best effect. I have mine on a faster recharge with traits, so I will shatter them as my skills recharge and then summon more. Anyway that’s my playstyle, and I’ve done very well so far in my mid 40’s now. I don’t get downed too often, and when I do I usually rally. But also I raised lots of vitality so I have decent health.

I’m a PVE mesmer and Moa disappoints me. I would rather they just remove the skill entirely and replace it with something decent. But I knew from the start that mesmer was a PVP oriented class when I created her, so I’m stuck with it. Time warp is more team oriented and I don’t use it yet although I likely will in dungeons if they ever fix them. I don’t see the point in using time warp in dynamic events when everyone is zerging anyways and I’m lucky to get in a few kills and maybe two whole loots at best. So I’m using Mistfire Wolf, and I’m really glad I have it because it’s the only decent elite I’ve got.

Set NPC Merchant Price as lowest possible bid

I got my very first gold drop today, and I couldn’t use it myself so I went to sell it on the trading post. There were over one thousand offers for it at 75 copper while it was worth 1 silver 80 copper to the NPC merchant. So I think those one thousand people will never get that nice yellow hammer I just sold to the NPC for 1 silver 80 copper.

Why do waves of enemies come after me when I'm all alone?

This is really garbage. I’m tired of either dying or running around in circles while npcs kill off everything. The personal story is terribad. I hate it and every time I have to face that many mobs I think of calling my credit card company and getting back my money for this game. I’m level 8 and facing waves and waves of mobs all alone. I can’t run that far away or I will be booted out of the instance, I can ‘t dodge enough because I have no endurance left. And you just had to copy WoW and give us breaking armor to make us even weaker. Really? I’m sure your fanboys will bash me for this but this game really stinks compared to the original Guild Wars. Those heart quests are incredibly dull and I miss having a decent story. Personal story isn’t worth the aggravation.
