Hello folks, it’s been a super long time since I’ve played (and I cant for another week -_-) but I was wondering if this new patch made bows any better for PvE. When I did play I used zerker with a sword and horn because I just could not get the damage I wanted to out of either of the bows. Did they make bows competitive DPS wise or are the swords still the king of dps for Rangers?

any 30.30.×.×.x build zerker gear, longbow / axe-warhorn. thats the cookie cutter spec.
No 30/30…. Is actually really bad. Don’t do that. You will stand at 1000 range with a bow and contribute very little in terms of dps and survivability and aoe boons and your pet will die a lot. This isn’t the way rangers are optimal right now, beginning of june, 2013.
This is what I kind of really hate about this class is that there is no agreement on what is actually useful in PvE. The consensus is that there are “ok” builds, but not any that really stand out. Kinda depressed that this is my first level 80, good thing my guardian is level 72.
I just hit 80 to and I’ve been using a condi build. From what I can gather, condi builds seems to suffer.
Reading some of the build threads in this forum seem to focus a ton on PvP, I just want to see what useful ranger build for PvE looks like :-)
