So I just built a new computer and won’t be transferring any files over. This means that I’ll need to download a new client for my favorite MMO (GW2). However, there are ZERO (0) references to downloading a client on the guildwars2.com homepage. In fact, when I log into the forums and do a search for “Download Client”, no results are returned. There are plenty of options to buy a new copy of GW2 all over the place, but there’s no link to download a fresh copy of the client.
On a side note, there’s no “Sign In Here” option on the homepage either. You have to go to the forum page or maybe some other page to get that option.
Why bury common options used by people that spend money on your game? It’s the same beef I had with dominos.com (pun intended). The log-in option was buried under two clicks that weren’t obvious. Returning customers shouldn’t have to hunt for how to log in. These are sub-optimal UX choices for existing users. It’s treatment like this that makes me pause and think that buying Gems maybe isn’t worth it if I’m just going to be treated like I don’t exist. It’s treatment like this that made me not use dominos.com ever again.
Side note/rant over.
Anyway, where’s the client? It’s guaranteed that I won’t buy any more Gems if I can’t even get into the game.
