Make Gift of Exploration a PvE Track

If the Gift of Battle is going to stay a WvW track, I say it’s only fair to make the Gift of Exploration a PvE track reward. I know, I know, map rewards already exist, and this would sorta be a map reward on top of a map reward. But hey, you know what else could happen if you made this change? You could move world exploration from a character bound state to an account bound state, and just how much more alt friendly would THAT be?

Recruiting PST Raid Players

I have a group of about 5 people mostly all geared in full ascended that I’ve been trying to raid with, but getting the last 5 through friends of friends or guilds has been troublesome. We begin at 9 PM PST, and run until 11 PM PST, every Thursday. We plan to go later as we progress further in the raid.

We have had far too many flakes, so if you are interested in joining us, please be capable of joining us every week. (No commitment up front, play with us and see if you like it first, and if not I’ll never bug you again)
Please have, at a minimum, ascended trinkets and accessories.
Be capable of playing multiple classes, or at the very least, interested or willing to.

We are not a hardcore group, but as such, we will strive to use whatever the meta deems “safest” builds to complete the raid. Experimentation is great and all that, but for now, we’re more interested in just completing the raid.

We currently need 2 condi dps players, 2 power dps players, and one anything (another mesmer would be nice, but not required).

If you are interested, please message me. Will keep trying to find players until we get a dedicated 10 (or 11, or 12, because I understand stuff happens).

Wintersday Wonderland Master Meta Credit

in Living World

I just completed the Wintersday Wonderland Master (complete the JP 15 times) achievement, and it fails to recognize in the meta as a completed achievement. Do I have to actually max it out for it to count now (a full 75 completions)?

I do not remember previous metas requiring absolute completion of the infinite achievements for credit in the past, but maybe that’s just how it is now.

Looking for Evening PST/NA PvE Guild

I’m currently in a guild with a great group of people, but the times they run PvE events does not fit with my work schedule. While it was OK to miss 90% of the guild missions, I’m not really keen on never having a stable group of players to raid with.

So I’m looking for a new guild to, at the very least, raid with. If the members are cool I can do more than raid, as I do pretty much everything except WvW. I have every character at 80 and all of them are geared with exotic/ascended.

What I’m looking for is a guild that:
– Planning on running raids between 7 and 11 PM PST Wednesday/Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday (not all of them, but at least one of them. Other content in that time would be nice as well, but raids are what I really care about right now)
– Mature members
– Uses voice chat

What you’ll get is:
– Mature, fully geared, fairly skilled player
– Consistency (I show up when I say I will)
– Not an elitist kitten (although I min max a lot, for personal stuff)

Please drop me a message if you are interested.

Create a custom chat filter and disable whispers. My PvP chat filter has only map, team, and say enabled, and my experiences have been fairly pleasant. I was even trying to learn warrior yesterday (and doing horribly), but did not encounter any verbal hostilities.

I haven’t gone through this to read everything, but I just did the Legend collection. T2 of the collection is just a massive resource sink, but T1 and T3 were fun (minus the stupid coral farm in T3). Overall, I got Legend for less than it would have taken me to buy it from the TP, even with a buy order, and I got an additional 35-40 achievement points for it. But I managed to power through T2 fairly quickly (day 2 or 3 after release), and had most of the resources lying around.

I can easily see how the Spiritwood Planks would be jumping in price right now, as well as the 2100 iron ore (actual ore, not ingots) required would absolutely throw that balance out the window very quickly. I do not think the collection will actually be cheaper in the end, and they are probably already more expensive than straight up purchasing the precursor. But the advantage of the collection is that you don’t need XXX gold RIGHT NOW, as you can do it bit by bit. No one ever said it would be cheaper. No one ever said it would be easier. The “journey,” I do not believe, was ever supposed to become THE way to get the precursors. It’s just an option.

For the new HoT legendaries though . . . Those are going to be gross to get. Market’s already going to be hit hard by everyone doing core collections, so you can expect prices of those to be absolutely absurd.

The Bifrost III : a Freakin Crystal !

Hey everyone, just wanted to let you know there’s a fairly easy way to get this achievement. Wait outside of the one Shatterer spawns in until 8 minutes past its start. Then waypoint in. You’ll probably have to do the pre yourself, but 8 minutes past is generally a good time to enter. Most people have already begun the event in other maps, and newcomers see a dead map and leave. I think my map yesterday (when I got the achievement, and finished my bifrost after almost 2 years) had 20 people, two of which were guildies trying as well.

We had three crystal phases through the fight, I got crystallized (twice even), and still managed to kill the dragon and get the reward (for other people, that was my third attempt of the day).

And since most people don’t actually know the mechanics of the fight, you can avoid destroying his regeneration crystals with that low of a player population, allowing him to heal. That might give you 1-2 additional crystal phases.

Why doesn't ANET want people doing dungeons ?

Overall, everything I’ve seen so far seems like there’s been a game wide shift away from rewarding flat gold, and instead rewarding items. Unfortunately, dungeons have no extra “items” added to them, they’ve only had the gold reduced. I can understand the shift away from rewarding liquid gold to the game, but it does suck massively that dungeons didn’t get anything new. Hell, increasing token rewards by 50% would be enough to get me back and doing them. I only ever ran them to make progress towards skin collections anyways.

Jade Maw 5 Minutes or Less...

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

What my group failed to realize the first two or three attempts was that Maw attacks faster in his final phase. We were originally keeping the jade colossi alive until we ran out of crystals, but when we realized he attacks maybe twice as fast after you kill the last colossus, we rushed maw into that phase and killed him with a good 30 seconds left, with several misses thrown in.

Looking for Late Night PST Guild Missions

I got a new job two months ago, and it just became permanent. While super awesome, it means I definitely can no longer make my guild’s mission times. So I’m looking for a guild that starts missions any time between 7:30 PM PST and 11:30 PM PST Thursday and Friday, or any time up to 4:30 PM on Saturday.

I have no intention of leaving my main guild, and plan to stop repping it only to get credit for the guild missions. But I do have all 8 classes with full exotic or better, and main Guardian (in case anyone cares). I have also run guild missions many, many times, and know all of them fairly well. I also have TS/Mumble/Vent installed.

Your guild can be on any server, and does not need to have all missions unlocked. While I would prefer joining a guild that has every mission unlocked and has the entire experience streamlined, I am not opposed to joining one that only has bounty training unlocked if the group of players is cool enough.

So if this sounds like something your guild would be cool with, drop me a message.

We don't like Trahearne *Spoiler Warning* [merged]

in Personal Story

Posted by: Mesona.5293

Mesona.5293

I’m hoping Anet kills Trahearne in future content. Either kill him or knock him down so hard he can’t get up. Not because I particularly hate him (although I do agree his role in the plot is super questionable), but because as long as he exists, I don’t see any real way the player can be anything more than a sidekick. I don’t see how, while he exists, the factions can regain their autonomy and separate from the mindless blob that is the Pact.

I don’t think the Pact is a terrible idea, but I was really hoping the end was going to be like Dark Saviour mentioned. I was hoping that, by choosing the Vigil, I would be engaging in a massive ground war with the dragon. I was imagining, after the earlier Vigil missions, 100 NPCs on the ground against a gignormous dragon and his minions, similar to the Claw Island, only magnified. I was also hoping the Priory and OoW would do something different for their end missions. Have three massively separate events that are defined by your order. And then, if you want some final event that’s the same for all three factions, if you want players to descend into Arah regardless of their orders, I would be ok with that.

The way the personal story is now, though, I feel as if none of my choices matter. Yeah, cool, I recruited some Grawl a long time ago as part of the Vigil, and they showed up in this one mission. Why is that the extent of meaningful choices? Every choice I make feels like it has no real impact. Every choice given results in a generic “Progress the Pact further” and doesn’t really reflect MY choices.

I understand the massive difficulty presented to the devs when people say things like “I want my personal story to matter!” when there are what, a few hundred possible combinations of personal stories, just out of character creation? I didn’t honestly expect that my “Protector of the mists” backstory would account for anything towards the end of the story. I had hoped, but I didn’t expect it. The Vigil, however, is something that has the setup and appearance of being a constant presence.

To give the devs credit (or give myself some optimistic hope), I haven’t gotten to the Pact on a second character yet. My alt will probably hit it today, and I’ll see if the OoW offers anything distinctly unique that the Vigil didn’t.

Mr Prismatic, I do not know of the rock that’s been smoothed out, but we both got into the cat area via wall jumps only an hour before we posted our screenshots. Yes, characters with leaps can do it easier, but Mech up there is a necro. It’s still possible, every class can get there. It’s just stupidly hard, and kitten near impossible if you don’t know exactly where to look. How Mech discovered the place the first time still amazes me.
